Wish I had been at:
Benny Goodman Carnegie Hall jazz concert
Rachmaninoff playing his second concerto (anywhere)
Beatles at Candlestick Park (last concert before the rooftop)
Bob Dylan at Newport
Keith Jarret at Koln Germany

Favorite seen:
Bob Dylan and the Band (Boston Garden 1974)
Leonard Cohen (Symphony Hall Boston February 1975 in big snowstorm)
Eugene Ormandy conducting Rachmaninoff 2nd Symphony (Kennedy Center)
Rolling Stones (Boston Garden 1972. Stevie Wonder was the opening act. Thought at the the time that this would probably be the last Stones tour)

Albert Schweitzer playing Bach on a legacy pipe organ in an ancient chapel in London.

I don't mind having been at a long ago Moody Blues concert in Long Beach, Ca., and a Leon Russel concert in San Diego, despite my short military haircut in both cases, my being in the Navy at the time.

I was offered tickets to see Led Zeppelin in July 1980. I declined thinking I'd see them another time.

Then John Bonham died.....my chance was gone for good.

I'd have loved to see any Pink Floyd concert.

Regards,

Jay.
Good to see your posting. How are you feeling? I've been thinking about you and hoping that you are feeling better from COVID.

I don’t have any specific events or dates, but I would’ve loved to have seen the following bands/singers live:

1) Led Zeppelin
2) Frank Sinatra
3) Nirvana
4) Elvis
5) Pink Floyd w/both Gilmour and Waters together. I’ve seen Pink Floyd twice w/Gilmour, and recently saw Waters, but it would’ve been great to have seen The Dark Side of the Moon or The Wall tours.

Here are my top five:

1) c. 66 AD: lyre concerts held by Emperor Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus. Reason: Nero ordered the doors locked at performances. Patricians would sham death to be carried out of the room. I think anyone that awful has to be heard in person.

2) May 27, 1824: premier of Beethoven’s 9th symphony. Reason: it is said Beethoven was so deaf members of the orchestra wept as he had to be turned around to know about the wild applause being given by the audience at the end of the performance.

3) May 29, 1913: premier of Le Sacre du printemps. Reason: the audience is said to have rioted at the choreography and music. How many people feel that passionate about music today?

4) May 17, 1947: Jack Teagarden sings St James Infirmary with the Louis Armstrong All-Stars at Town Hall. Reason: just because.

5) January 30, 1969: Beatles rooftop concert at 3 Saville Row. Reason: you have to ask? Really?

I had tickets to see Linton Kwesi Johnson, the great 'dub poet' back in the '80s in LA when he toured with Dennis Bovell's crack band. Only problem was I showed up the day after the concert happened. Man, I was pissed! So that's one.
Rite of Spring premiere would be another.
Doors, and maybe Love, during their heyday at the Whiskey or the Roxy in LA.
Orquestra Baobab was supposed to play a free concert at the Santa Monica pier a few years ago, but they had visa problems and canceled. Now most of the original band members have passed away.
I regret not going to the Hollywood Bowl to see James Brown before he passed.
Is that 5? I could go on.
