***What Are You Smoking, September 2024?***

Breaking in the new Peterson D17 (Xmas 2024) with some American Patriot. Very happy with this pipe.

    Peterson Christmas Pipes

Just got my hertage D17 and it’s gorgeous! Very happy with this pipe. Smokewise I’d say it’s about the size of a 106.

    Seasonal Novelty Pipes - Halloween

I have a few pipes that are horror/Halloween styled pipes--a couple from Eldritch Pipes, Northern Briars Sea Urchin, Pete's in the Dracula/Dr. Jekyll, etc--but never really wanted a pumpkin pipe. I do wish Rattray's would do a neat release of the Samhain pipes with the Eldritch stems (I have a...

    Being Petersonised

I have about twenty or so and really love the chonky size of them. Usually get a decently long smoke out of them, too. My fave shapes are the XL14 (Deerstalker) and the B42, but I have a fairly decent smattering of styles (most recently getting the POTY and the D17 Xmas pipe). I've had zero...

Has Your Palate for Tobacco Changed Over Time?

Mine has for sure. Started in the 80's when I was still a teen and only smoked my local Tobacco Lane's aromatic selections, along with the occasional bowl of Velvet. By the end of the 90's I had given up on most aro's and was into McClelland's light English and Oriental blends. I didn't start...

    Peterson Christmas Pipes

If it's any consolation, I got a rusticated B42 with the copper spigot the last time they did them for Xmas and the combo looks way better in person than in the photos. I just got a D17 in the heritage finish and will probably get an X105 in the rusticated because they actually look great with...

    Opinion of Current/Modern Stanwell Pipes?

Yeah, I looked at those. Pretty cool for a reasonable price. The newest POTY by them is not bad, too, and looks like it's a small acorn. May grab one.

    Peterson Christmas Pipes

I see a D17 and XL02 in my future. With they had done a 605--I've been pining for one of their large pots. I get why people want them to look "Christmas-y," but I think of them more as commemorating the event rather than looking like it. I wouldn't want a huge cadre of red and green pipes...

    Opinion of Current/Modern Stanwell Pipes?

I've been meaning to grab a nice acorn by Stanwell for a good while and I noticed that the brand has changed quite a bit. It looks like a lot of the Sixten designs were still being produced well into 90's or so, but seem pretty rare now with mostly freehands and standard shapes being produced...

***What Are You Smoking, September 2024?***

Enjoying the rain with this Eldritch Pipes volcanic billiard and GLP Westminster.

    Ken Byron Tobaccos

I've liked a lot of his blends. Most recently, Hand of Gotz and Uzumaki were both great, IMO. Before I started avoiding most aromatics I really liked his Sakura and Butterfluff blends; the latter was a hit during my trip to Universal/Wizarding World and reminded everyone of Butterbeer.

    Favorite Boswell Blend

Northwoods and Hunter's Choice are both great, but my fave is Railroad Station. These blends are about as aromatic as I can get with tobacco TBH, with the only other aro I regularly get being Sillem's Black.

***What Are You Smoking, September 2024?***

Some good old St Bruno in my Eldritch Pipes reading pipe.

LJ Peretti: No. 8 Slices & Cambridge Flake

Tashkent and Oriental #40 are two of my all time favorite blends. I think I could get by for my remaining days with just Peretti and Pease blends.

Best Pipe Tobacco for Appetite Suppressant

I mostly smoke Oriental blends which are typically low in nicotine and still get the appetite suppressant benefit.

    Granpa's Tobacco

My grandfather smoked Velvet religiously. The scent of it is pure nostalgia for me, but can barely tolerate smoking it.

C&D Golden Days of Yore is out

This is actually a mild aromatic and an all around good blend. I like it and I can count the aro's I smoke on one hand.

***What Are You Smoking, September 2024?***

Breaking in the new Sav Unica. Bigger than I was expecting it to be--very nice! Yes, it is now my Ravenclaw pipe.

    All These Years, Missing Out

I had a hard time in the beginning with VaPers. I pretty much stuck to Balkans and English for years. VaPers just tasted like raisins to me and I really disliked it. Now I love quite a few of them, particularly Bayou Morning, Dorchester, and Stokkebye Bullseye.

    UK: Labour Smoking Ban

I don't get too panicked with these types of laws. Where I live (States) public smoking is pretty much banned, along with the inside areas of bars/pubs, yet I can still find places with a nice outdoor beergarden where smoking is fine. A lot of breweries also have these areas. I figured it...
