Went blind buy on this one hoping it won’t ghost my pipe 🤷‍♂️
GDOY is not heavily topped compared to other aromatics. You’d have to smoke multiple bowls of it in a row to get a noticeable ghost. I bought some back in 2021, and it was one of the driest tinned tobaccos I’ve come across, so goop factor is low.

They have a new video on it at their YT channel and they say it's a subtle aromatic. I expect that my neanderthal palette will not catch the subtleties, but I've been watching for that to appear so I bought a tin. I like Xmas spices and smells. I might just tie a teabag of it under my nose instead of smoking it.

I will be picking up a couple tins of this one too. Looked at the cellar and realized I don't currently have any. I'm still waiting to see what the spooky season tobaccos and pipes will be but so far it seems like the blenders and pipe makers have just skipped right ahead to Christmas.

One of the things I miss most about Christmas Cheer was that it didn't come with holiday spice shit on it. But, cheers to those who like these. Whatever gets you in the holiday spirit.
I think McClelland's Christmas Cheer was the only straight Virginia Christmas blend. It was good but didn't make me think of Christmas.

I also have three tins of C&D's Jolly Old St. Nicholas and one Corn Cob Pipe & A Button Nose.
Personally, I prefer the Rattray's Winter Editions (made by Kohlhase & Kopp) and the Kohlhase & Kopp's Winter Editions.

Got it in yesterday. It's light and fluffy, could practically pour it out of the tin into the jar. Not wet. Smells faintly of something, but my snoot doesn't scream that Christmas has arrived. I had hoped that it would be more pungent.

Edit:... as expected, any subtle notes are lost on my newbie tongue. To me, it's kind of a neutral smoke with nothing of note happening.
