    Any Tea Drinkers?

Love this Tetley Green Tea with Mango and Passionfruit as a companion to most tobaccos. Goes great with any VaPer, or in this case with Borkum Riff Bourbon.

    Flexible Falcon

I have had falcons for over 40 years and the Dental bit is much more comfortable. I still have most of my own teeth, but it just feels better.

    Flexible Falcon

I have a bad case of FAD. Falcon Acquisition Disorder. I came by a Falcon Extra stem with a Dental bit. They are much easier if you habitually clench as I do. They are hard to find in a fancy finish like this so I bought it in a heart beat. It came with a "dry ring" and although I had never...

    Hello from Cornwall, UK.

That's good to hear. I live a mile from Carlyon bay at a little place called Biscovey.

    Zippo Standard or Pipe Insert?

Was given one but its ok indoors and not a patch on real Zippo outside.

    Flexible Falcon

    Thanks for the heads up.

    Flexible Falcon

I have two Bantam bowls. A bulldog and a Tangier rustic. Big enough for a one hour smoke of something slow burning.

    Flexible Falcon

I fancy a meer lined bowl.

    Flexible Falcon

Easy to customise. One stem and a couple or 3 bowls and you are set.

    Flexible Falcon

Cheers Mate. My oldest Falcon is over 30. It has only had 3 new bowls and 2 new stems.

    Flexible Falcon

Isooropyl alcohol cleans and sanitises the best.

    Flexible Falcon

Lately I have forsaken most of my humble collection for the flexibility of a Falcon and 4 bowls. It has some advantages, espescially when trying new tobaccos as comparing like with like is easy. Similar bowl shapes make that a doddle. I like to clench and falcon bits are very hardy. I prefer the...

    Zippo Standard or Pipe Insert?

I like zippo lighters to light my pipe. I have three of them at the moment and one has the pipe lighter insert. Do you prefer the standard or pipe insert ? I tend towards the regular zippo as I think it lights a full pipe better and provides an even charring light.

    Borkum Riff Bronze (Bourbon).

If you try it again, remember that it is largely composed of Virginia and that can burn a bit hot. The solution is to light it very gently, (literally caress it with the flame) and then tamp gently. Second light usually is good to go. Don't fill too tightly and don't draw too hard on it. The...

I found Royal Yacht to be full of tar. Not a pleasant smoke for me. Lots of goop left in the Falcon Humidome afterwards.

    Why Do Aromatics Rate Poorly?

Sadly it is not in flake form and I find the ratio of Burley higher than the original which was the first tobacco I bought, ever. Like unto Erinmore, the flake was very different and sadly it has gone away never to be seen. MacBaren haven't done a bad job, but it is not the same as the ready rub...

    Why Do Aromatics Rate Poorly?

I have returned to Aromatics in a limited way over the last couple of months. I do have a very clear idea of what I want from my choice of tobacco. I like the dryer composition of European (Dutch and Scandinavian) mixtures. Amphora Full Aroma and Borkum Riff Bourbon are both in my regular...

Samuel Gawith RB plug was a great revelation to me. I'm not over keen on their Full Virginia Flake, but this is the same blend in plug form with a herbal topping of Cheviot. It is stellar and chases all those rainbows of bread and fruit and ginger. I swear it is a different blend from FVF, but...

    Blend continuity and recipe faithfulness.

I get the whole thing about tobacco being a living growing product, but which tobacco houses are true to the original recipe in as much as each crop can only last so long, so it is up to the blender to get as close as they can. MacBaren have now the production rights to Ogdens brand name and do...
