Idiot Question from a Veteran Smoker
I keep the card on top and transfer to a jar if its gonna be a while before its smoked. My jar of choice is the handy dandy jar that Doewe Egberts coffee comes in. Great seal on a jar that is literally free with my instant coffee.- John_B

Burley issues
Burley causes me a kind of chemical tongue bite. I try and avoid it, but some blends are ok in small doses. I'm ok with Dark fired and Perique though as these are sufficiently FUBAR to not upset my chemistry.- John_B

Borkum Riff Bronze (Bourbon).
So I am exploring the wold of aromatics after a lifetime spent smoking mainly flakes. I always enjoyed Players Whiskey Flake (sadly long gone) and I have a soft spot for whiskey flavored blends. Borkum Riff gets a bad press generally, but I thought I would revisit it in its latest incarnation...- John_B

That is an interesting viewpoint. I don't always agree with reviews and an example is Borkum Riff Bronze. I bought some aeons ago when I first started out and liked it, but found it to burn too hot. I tried a pouch of the latest iteration this week and it has improved beyond measure. Now...- John_B

How Slow can You Go?
It took me a long time to realise that a slower cadence was better. I now habitually clench and use the breath method. That and smoking properly dried tobacco has made tongue bite less of a thing. I can get an hour out of a bowl of St Bruno or other good flake tobacco this way. 40 or 50 minutes...- John_B
