Do You have a Pipe You can’t Bring Yourself to Smoke?

Here's a Vollmer & Nilsson I can't bring myself to light up. Maybe one day.

    All Day Tobacco

I usually go to a straight forward Oriental bend as an all day smoke. Nothing too complex and stays lit easily. Also a little lighter on the Vitamin N

    Putting Shine to Briar

There's and aerosol spray called "Bees Wax" that is amazing for most any type of material and especially on wood. However because it is a spray you have to apply it to a cloth first and then wipe down the pipe. You certainly don't want the spray to get into your bowl. Prevents wax build up.

    Craziest tamper

Was out in the woods with my guitar and had to use the round end of a thumb pick because I left all my pipe accessories at the cabin.

    Pipe Polishing: Needed?

I don't wax as I like the natural finish pipes obtain after awhile. If the briar is really nasty, I use a small bit of olive oil to remove the grime and obtain the natural patina.

Why did Screw Stems Fall From Favor?

Years ago I smoked a lot of Kaywoodies with the stinger and for me they always smoked wet. To unscrew it and run a pipe cleaner for me was a pain in the neck. I tried cleaning without unscrewing and that never worked for me as well. Maybe it was improper technique in my early days but I...

    That incredible Zen...

Some teas have more caffeine than coffee. Be careful, but enjoy that pipe!

    That incredible Zen...

A nice glass of single blend scotch and some Magnum Opus in my Larsen bent dublin after a hard day's work. Valhalla! It doesn't get any better!

    Ten Minute Tiny Pipes

A 4" Dirk Heinemann. Smallest pipe I've ever owned. A great 10-20 minute smoke

How Do Folks Prefer to Buy?

Sorry to hear of your situation. I too have lost taste since the pandemic but I still have some enjoyment. I agree any more than 4-5 tins represents a financial problem for some. Look forward to your offerings Kindest regards, Rudy

Jim's Watch City American Cut Plug Mixture Review.

Sound great and will definitely give it a try. Hope there is enough to go around!

    Tobaccoreviews Site Down

I enjoy Jim's great reviews and find them useful for an accurate description of the blend's contents. My palate certainly isn't that sophisticated, but I always enjoy Jim's "can be an all day smoke" tobaccos. We all have different tastes as evidenced by the review discrepancies smokers can...

Emptying bowl if not finished...while hot or cooled?

I dump it hot whether I've had enough or the tobacco has gotten rank (usually my fault for smoking too hot). However I never try to take a pipe apart until it has cooled down.

    Estate Pipe Acquisitions

Great post from Doc Chopper. I don't use any chemicals ever. Everclear for the inside and olive oil for exterior shine when needed.

Nicotine Buzz on a Empty Stomach

If I feel too much Vitamin N is starting to kick in, I just slow down and pay more attention to my cadence. It's all personal. For me the nic hit can come on an empty or full stomach Also something sweet like a candy bar can help with the nausea.
