    Have You Found "Your Blend"?

I've found it, though I enjoy the eternal search to find it's better. Its not even so much a single blend that I zero in on as it is a particular flavor profile. My enjoyment comes from finding new and interesting blends that hit closer and closer to that ideal profile for me.

In Praise of the Humble No. 400

Same here, I thought I was dropping in to leave a "Hell yea I love me some #400 too brother!" but alas, wrong #400 haha. I shall take my leave.

    The Most Disappointing Tobacco

C&D Palmetto Balkan. I had such high hopes when that one came out and went all in in 2x8oz tins. I was highly disappointed, I utterly detest what they did to the Latakia in it. In fact I still have an unopened tin and 98% of another that I should find a good home for, because it ain’t at my...

This is a request from Latakiaphiles...

Caravan, Quiet Nights, Blackpoint, in no particular order except that Caravan is my favorite.

    "Scottish" Bag End

Druquer & Sons Loch Ness has that same Scottish blend complexity going on. I believe Blairgowrie does as well, but its been a very long time since I've tried it.

Blends With Latakia but Without Virginia or Burley

I think you would probably enjoy a few of the Country Squire's blends, particularly Northwest Trek, Hunting Creek, and Cornishman. Angry Cornishman might also be up your alley. Wilke Crystal Palace is definitely worth a look as well.

    JM Boswell Blends

Countryside has less latakia than Northwoods, but is rich in non-latakia orientals. Both are fantastic, but I lean more towards Countryside.

    Cornell & Diehl Sale

Yeah, that one shares the same grey area as Pirate Kake. You can buy it buy the pound, yet it doesn't classify as "bulk". I can remember being able to buy it by the oz at one point.

    Cornell & Diehl Sale

Mountain Camp, Star of the East, Star of the East Gold, Super Balkan, Bayou Night, Byzantium, Billy Budd, the list of greats goes on and on.

Help Appreciated: Is it Mold or Bloom?

I'd say as long as it smells fine just destroy the evidence in a series of small fires. Looks like sugar crystals to me but hey..

    New Warped Tobacco: Midsommar

At first glance this one looks like something I'd really like. Orientals, crumble cake, I mean sounds good right? But at the risk of some degree of ire I'm going to go ahead and say that this increasingly frequent combo of 2018 Izmir and 2019 Basma falls a bit flat with me. Now I absolutely...

Jim's C&D Sun Bear Tupelo Review.

Last year's Sun Bear was a very nice blend, I still have a couple of tins of it left. This year's Sun Bear is the same blend with a different honey varietal, tempted to go ahead and grab a couple before they disappear.

    Oriental Blend Recommendation

Drucquer&Sons Casbah is another great oriental. The flavors are very crisp and clear.

    Oriental Blend Recommendation

Cairo, Caravan, Super Balkan, Wilke #111

Is This Mold? 2022 Cringle Flake

Looks like sugar crystals to me, does not look like mold. I'd smoke it, me.

    Favorite GLP

    Recent TAD Pick-Ups

Racked up at the Country Squire Radio 500th episode event. Had an amazing time and could t help but do some shopping while there.

    Commuter/Outside Smoking

I do about 95% of my smoking in the car commuting back and forth to work. I pre-load 2 pipes before I leave and smoke one on the way and another on the way home. I also keep a roll-up pouch in the car with 2 empty pipes and 2 pocket jars for “just in case”.

    Why Peterson?

My first briar looks identical to the above picture! I’ve had quite a few Petersons over the years, and though I’ve grown to dislike the dreaded P-lip I still have quite a few Petersons in my day to day rotation. Good quality, good looks, good price.

    The Country Squire 2023 Mirkwood

It was hard to complete the purchase, their site got swamped pretty hard. I managed to wrestle 4oz out of the dogpile.
