My great grandfather
I would bet it's a Peterson. Also, from the shine of the bowl and the stem it's probably a new one and a good grade, note the smooth finsh and the silver band. And it would be safe to say that his pipe was important to him if he had a rather formal portrate taken with it. Cool tie!- searock

Another thought... I noticed your a "new" pipe smoker. I hope you realize you have to "tamp" after lighting. What you should try to do is create a slight ash layer on the top of the tobacco.
