My great grandfather

Smoked a pipe, it seems.

My grandmother just sent me a photograph of him.



For some reason, she hoped that this would "give me pause..." (She isn't happy that I smoke now.)

Of course, that photo does nothing but encourage me.

I would bet it's a Peterson. Also, from the shine of the bowl and the stem it's probably a new one and a good grade, note the smooth finsh and the silver band. And it would be safe to say that his pipe was important to him if he had a rather formal portrate taken with it. Cool tie!

I just found out that the man in that picture was born in 1892. Wow.
