Who is Your Current Favorite Writer?

Robert Goddard (Into the Blue etc) and Patrick O’Brian (Post Captain etc). Both amazing writers.

Jack Knife Plug in a Savinelli Autograph.

    Favorite Bur/Per

Interesting that you find their similar. I think they’re very different with Tuggle Hall being more of an English blend IMHO. I much prefer Tuggle Hall of the two.

    What are Your Hobbies?

Reading: an average of 5 books a month including history, and fiction from Trollope to modern mysteries. Gardening: although since we downsized I’m not doing nearly as much of this. Travel: mostly in the US now. Fountain Pens: I have about 200 including about two dozen vintage Parker 51’s (my...

    Covid /Palate Fatigue/Palate Cleansing

I had COVID last December and my sense of smell is still not back. Nine months! Maybe 60% of what I had before? Tobacco is not nearly as enjoyable for me, and I get a metalic taste when I drink red wine. Bourbon tastes pretty good though, ha. Anyone else had so long a period of lack of taste...

What Cigar are You Smoking? - 2022

AJ Fernandez New World Oscuro Gordo with Bulleit Burbon. My current favorite cigar.

    Jim's Sutliff Whimsical Review.

Silly me. At first I thought Jim was writing an amusing tongue in cheek review because of “whimsical” in the title. Another great review.

My first Celius and Poul Hansen pipes

    They look great.

    The Economics of Pipe Smoking

Pipe tobacco is certainly a bargain in today's world, especially compared to heavily taxed cigarettes and hand made cigars. $10 a stick still kinda shocks me every time I light a cigar up.

    Ni hao from Philly

    Welcome from Chester County.

    English Aficionados

Westminster and London Blend are excellent with more orientals, I think. Of course, Westminster is GLP's homage to the old Dunhill London Blend.

What are You Watching? Year 2022

Better Call Saul season Six. The first five Seasons were excellent and I just started the last. 5/5 overall. Das Boot TV Series. Not perfect but certainly worth watching. 4/5.

Vintage Dunhill Set of Six Pipes. Help!

    Wow, congratulations! Amazing find.

What Underrated Blends in Production do You Now Cellar?

I personally like OJK White Label, which does not seem to get a lot of love. It has some similarities to Pegasus IMHO although many would probably disagree. I have 35 pounds of tobacco in my cellar which is not a lot in comparison to many on this forum. It is well diversified with a lot of...

National Cherish an Antique Day; Show Us Yours!

My great - great grandfather's bookcase. Circa 1870 I'd guess. Not valuable except for family sentimental reasons.

***What are You Smoking, April 2022?***

    Gorgeous pipe.

    Smoking Frequency

Since COVID and my limited sense of taste / smell, I've only smoked at most once a week, if that. I hope to get back to a few times a week. I purposefully limit my smoking to keep risk factors very low.

Consider Writing A Letter, I Mean Snail Mail

Very impressive and I hope one of your descendants are interested. Unfortunately most younger people have no interest as I’ve found in my own family. Their Great-Great Great Grandfather’s beautiful hand written summaries of his court cases when he was a judge? Yawn. I could go on and on with my...
