    POV Pipe View

Hey Smoking. Whereabouts in S. Texas are you? My wife's family lives in and around Lytle, Devine, Natalia, Hondo, around 40 miles or so SW of San Antonio

    ZZTop and Prince Albert?

Don't want to hijack the thread, but just wanted to send my condolences to you Hawke, on the passing of your mother. My wife's dad just passed a few days ago so I can empathize.

    Any Hot Tea drinkers here?

I drink a cup or two at work most days. I'm definitely not a connoisseur, but just find it convenient to use a Bigelow tea bag. Each bag is sealed in a foil packet so it doesn't come out as dry and stale as others, as far as tea bags go. Black tea, English Teatime, is pretty good, but I'm sure...

This Forum's Members Are The Best !! Hands Down. Thanks Rsuninv

That's a great looking pipe, Gary. Congrats. Way to go Tim. I have a Kaywoodie bulldog that I got at an antique store that looks exactly like that. Don't know what year it is, but I love it, and like to smoke H&H Anniv. Kake in it. Enjoy!

    Smoking Indoors

It's funny how perceptions and attitudes change over time. As a kid growing up my grandmother always smoked in the house and there was no thinking twice about it. This was in the 60s. My parents didn't smoke but they never said anything to my grandmother about not smoking when I stayed over a...

    Favorite OTC?

My favorite of the OTCs that I've tried is Walnut, a light English, American style. It has been discontinued just like Sugar Barrel, so if you see one anywhere you might want to grab ahold of it, if you like light English blends.

What I Learned While I was Gone...

Hang in there Jason. I can identify with some of your troubles. I don't puff like a freight train, but I do struggle with packing correctly and keeping the pipe lit, and knowing how moist/dry, loose/tight the tobacco is/should be in the pipe. I've only been doing this a little over a year, but...

Piper In Trouble: Need Some Feedback

Trailboss, I was the OP on the first link you posted. As it turns out, the bumps at the back of my tongue were nothing more than my taste buds. Why they were raised up like they were, to the point that I noticed it when I swallowed, is only conjecture. I first noticed it on the way to work after...

    Advice needed for packing

Thanks for the advice mrdottle. I have noticed I have more relights in the second half of the bowl, most of the time. However, with me that is true even if I have dumped the ash at the mid-way point. So, still trying to tinker with things and do adjustments to figure it out

    Japanese B&M Interview?

It sounds to me like an interesting proposal, but a two hour commute is kind of a long time to go to a job, unless you were also planning on relocating if you got the job. However, that's just me. The job part is very interesting, and if travel time is no big deal to you, I'd say go for it!

    I can't stay away!

I haven't tried any twists or rope yet, and don't imagine I will anytime soon, what with all the other selections available to choose from, and I have quite a diversity of blends anyway. I've got some Condor thanks to Condorlover, and I think that is the strongest I will be trying for some time...

That was a great gift. There are many on this site that are very generous-hearted. Congrats on your gift and kudos to your benefactor.
