Show Us Your Clay Pipes Here!

Nice looking pipe. Does it get hot due to thin walls? I believe De Kroon Schotten is actually a Dutch style Belgium pipe factory. https://www.claypipes.nl/buitenland/belgie/de-kroon-schoten/

Ah. So it’s a hemp pipe now, lol.

Show Us Your Clay Pipes Here!

It is actually tiny. Getting 20 minutes out of it requires a lot of skill. Wow. What’s that, a thread ? Doesn’t it burn?

    Good find??

It really depends on the buyer. I prefer my old 17-18th century silver with patina. Most people prefer shiny. Even well polished silver will gain the patina back in 3-4 years so it’s not a huge deal. Problem is that many silver cleaning methods are considered abrasive and are often frowned...

Show Us Your Clay Pipes Here!

My authentic 18 century clay Ukrainian cossack pipe. My modern clay pipe made by the pottery master Nechay (unsmoked yet, just got it today)

Show Us Your Clay Pipes Here!

For some reason a thread about boasting your clay pipes was absent here. (I triple checked) This needs to be changed!

    Amazon's Rings of Power.

I still shudder when I remember the Battle of Five Armies…especially the moment when orcs were charging a perfect wall of dwarven shields with elven archers behind their backs and then, seconds before the clash, elves jump over the dwarves into the melee… Only the GoT stupidity of the Long Night...

    Hello From Ukraine

I would have opted to start one, but first I think I would need at least one of the three clay pipes I ordered to arrive…

    Hello From Ukraine

Is there a “show us you clay pipe” thread? Seems like it’s missing, but I simply can’t believe it.

The Most Moronic Thing You’ve Ever Done

Don’t worry bout it too much. There is no way you would have held onto them till now. Best case scenario: you would have sold them at 100 thinking it was your smartest decision. If by any chance you chose to wait till 200 it still wouldn’t have brought you any life changing profit. Under no...

The Most Moronic Thing You’ve Ever Done

Accidentally purchased a pack of rolling tobacco instead of pipe tobacco. Took it hiking with me. For lack of other tobacco decided to give it a try. Decided it ain’t half bad. Next day discovered I burned literally every inch of my mouth.

    History of the Dragon Claw

While doing some reading about 17-18th century clay pipes I saw something I decided could be interesting for this thread:

Advice on which shape of pipe is …

At this point I would suggest you pick the one most visually pleasing. A minor warning Thicker bowl is actually not that great for one who starts the hobby, because he may have troubles with heat control. The briar may seem warm in hand but will be hellishly hot inside.

    New Member from China

Wow, nice to see someone from China. Wanted to ask: I see a lot of pipes being sold on AliExpress. Do you also have access to buying there? And most importantly, would you buy a pipe there?

    G'day from Australia

can you grow your own tobacco in Australia? In Ukraine our tobacco prices have soared 40 times in the past 8 years so a lot of people started growing (and selling) their own tobacco which in my opinion usually tastes like a lower end captain black but is in fact 10 times cheaper

    Hello From Ukraine

Thank you. We take a lot of inspiration from the Winter War heroes.

Advice on which shape of pipe is …

Straight billiard is the way to go for starters. You will later develop personal preferences for shapes, but a straight billiard is easier to handle for a new acolyte. Just don’t buy cheaper wooden pipes, stick with briar.

    Amazon's Rings of Power.

I might be a bookworm but I consider Game of Thrones, Witcher, Rings of Power and Wheel of Time TV series to all be failures different only by the degree of their disgrace.

What Are You Drinking? October 2022

I’m drinking rum. Actually my rum collection is about 20 times bigger than my pipe collection and I’m better acquainted with rum than with pipes. But for logical reasons those two vices just do not go well together.

    Kohlhase And Kopp Blend Recommendations

Dear gents, Found a box of K&K Winter edition 2021 in one of the local stores. Given that we only have Peterson, C&D, and MacBarren - this is a rare treat. Is this tobacco worth pursuing for someone who prefers to stay away from sweat aromatics and from "hot burning" tobaccos?
