Thanks for making this thread! Those are beautiful clay pipes, how long can you smoke the cossack pipe on average? I hope @halfdan will post some of his clay pipe collection to keep this thread up. 
I only have one clay pipe so far. A cheap 20cm/7.8in straight one that was made here in Germany.
It had to endure quite a few changes, it came in white but regular burning out left it black.
By now it broke a couple of times and looks like this, still smokes great.

It is actually tiny. Getting 20 minutes out of it requires a lot of skill.

I bet, but it sure looks nice. Great for a little smoke of strong tobacco.
I bound it with strong hemp wick and soaked it in plastic glue, it doesn't burn at all, just gets warm.
It also enables me to hold the pipe at the chamber and put it on the table without falling over.
@Chaukisch I'm sure you already know this is my favourite pipe on this forum

Ah. So it’s a hemp pipe now, lol.
Here is mine. Bought it for six euros unsmoked. It appears Dutch because it’s stamped “DE KROON” underlined “SCHOTTEN” Length 16 centimetres, bowl height 4,3, bowl 20 millimetres.
It comes with unbelievable thin wall in the bowl.
Nice looking pipe. Does it get hot due to thin walls?
I believe De Kroon Schotten is actually a Dutch style Belgium pipe factory.

The missing hint.And of course the delicate wall is getting hot soon, as all clay pipes do. I handle that one at the shank while smoking.
About 2mm thick? It seems to be the standard.
Very, but with raw tobacco or a true to the bones English/unflavored blend and a slow draw you can hold it at the thin chamber without a problem.
I can’t. Dropped once as I was a fifteenth, my first clay with a 30 centimetres stem because I burned my fingers. As far as I remember it didn’t break. I lost that one somewhere in the flow of time.
@jpberg :Thats an old one! In a drawer back in the U.K I have a couple of pipes like that which are practically indestructible. What does it say on the front?
