How Important is One Pipe per Blend Type

Sometimes a ghost can be tasty, especially a haunting of a Balkan and an aromatic. Sometimes not. Lakelands however are the devil's weed and I avoid them at all costs. There is no ghost scarier than a Lakelands ghost!

I flew a Super Cub in Alaska in '92. You'll probably love it as it is amazingly beautiful up there. Thank you for your service.

How Do You Know When Summer Has Arrived?

The aroma of coconut suntan lotion and cute girls on the beach are a giveaway that Summer's here. Ice Cream trucks of course, and Farmer's Markets.

    Fresh Corn

    Apple for Moisture

I find that apple peel works well enough, also orange peel, depending on what you packed for lunch. Remember, this is a field expedient, after all! Just don't leave it in long enough for mold to form. I'll keep it in the pouch for two days at the max. By then it will work it's restorative "magic."

    Favorite Steak Marinade

I'm more into dry rubs like Montreal Steak, or Pappy's reduced sodium. I do some marinades though, usually Basque brand. Canned chipotles with the adobo sauce run through a blender make an interesting marinade.

This following essay from The Oregonian has comforted me too many times over the years: For years, the most requested reprint from The Oregonian’s archives was an essay by Ben Hur Lampman, which originally appeared in the newspaper Sept. 11, 1925. It is reprinted here in full: A subscriber of...

    Malt Vinegar On French Fries

On a sandwich, the mayonnaise serves as an architectural element, like adhesive, cementing things together. There is no such justification with a wiener where the bun acts as a c-clamp physically holding the contents in situ.

    Malt Vinegar On French Fries

Even worse is mayonnaise on a hot dog.
