    Top 3 Burley’s?

Uhle's Blend 300 (or any Uhle's burley - they're all amazing. 300 is the sweetest) Sutliff Match Ready Rubbed MacBaren HH Burley Flake

    Peterson Meer anyone?

The Peterson African meets aren't charred either - it's a fumed top and it came from the factory that way

Do You Ever Revisit a Former “No”?

I have bunch of mason jars that I thought were going to be one and done. I’ll try them and not be impressed and put them away for awhile. Then a few weeks to a month later I’ll look to make some room and pull out one of those blends to smoke every morning until it’s gone, and by day 3 or 4 I’ll...

    Peterson P-lip Replacement Stem

Last I spoke with him he only had vulcanite p-lip stems. I'm looking for an acrylic p-lip stem. It's an old System pipe

    Altinay Pipes Operating?

I spoke with Said to thank him for the pipe I recently commissioned from them. That was after the earthquake and they were still operational. He took a few days after I initially reached out to get the pipe made but was very responsive after that. Not sure if anything has changed since that time

    What's the Lowdown on Uhle's?

Uhle‘s only offers 1.5/7/14 oz quantities, at least for out of state purchases

    Peterson System Acrylic vs Vulcanite

If you're looking for a 314 or 303 System Standard, any you find stamped Republic of Ireland should still have a vulcanite stem.

    When to Sell Estates

I'm culling the herd at the moment. I always reach for the same pipes and many weren't getting smoked at all. Strangely, I also found the mental space the unsmoked pipes were occupying to be annoying, as I kept trying to justify smoking them when I really wanted to smoke one of my regulars. So...

    Difference of Peterson System Models.

There are currently 3 - System Standard, System Spigot, and Deluxe System. The Standard and Spigot are similar apart from the spigot mount. The Deluxe is the only current version that uses the aluminum extension/chimney. I've got Standard & Deluxe Systems and I like them both. I will...

Sutliff: Crumble Kake Barrel Aged Series No.5 Rustica

Looking forward to this. Missed the HH Rustica drop so figured I should grab a couple of tins of this, which I did the moment it came out.

    Show Off Your Petersons Here!

I have a Mark Twain that is stamped Mark Twain on the pipe and has a 1986 hallmark. The box says Rustic XL which isn’t found anywhere on the pipe. So unless I have a one off they seemed to produce them in years besides 81’ & 85’.

    Sorry Dunhill, I don’t get you…

Sounds like it would be irresponsible on your part not to do so

    Sorry Dunhill, I don’t get you…

I've never understood this line of thinking. My main passion is fly fishing, and I have rods that are upwards of $1000. I also fish 200+ days per year. By the time you get to 10 years on owning a $1000 fly rod, the cost per day on the water is so negligible they are all low in cost at that...

Show Off Your Meerschaum Pipes Here!

Thanks! 62 grams. 48x22 mm so it’s a good size I had Said put a little more bend in the stem before he sent it out and it hangs perfect now

    Birth Year Pipe

I've got a Peterson Mark Twain and a Stanwell Tom Eltang designed birth year pipe. They just so happened to already be my favorite shape from each of those makes so finding a birth year of each was a nice score

    Stories of Past Pipe Smokers.

My tobacco journey started with smoking cigars with my dad by the fire pit in my backyard after graduating high school. One visit to the tobacco shop I decided that I was going to take up a pipe and bought some cherry aromatic tobacco to go with it. When I got home that night, my dad laughed...

    Cornell & Diehl Mad Fiddler

Mad Fiddler Flake is amazing. To me it’s a VaPer with a little more body to the flavor, and it’s not as sweet as something like Marlin Flake, which is similar minus the cigar leaf. A little higher in nicotine than average too. Made the mistake of smoking this before dinner once…never again
