***What Are You Smoking, February 2021?***

Been exploring new stuff. Smoking a lot of Solani Aged burely flake and their VaPer. Also The Haunting, Esoterica Penzance and Pembroke, Trying out Peterson Flake and Oak Alley the past week. Oh wait, just tried miss. River rum barrel aged and also Stonehenge. Yeah, those are all great so far.

Do You Buy New Pipes To *Not* Smoke Them?

I bought a nice Blowfish with all intentions of smoking it. I did smoke it a couple times but it looks like it’ll so easily char the rim and it is difficult to find a stand to rest it so I just keep passing on it. That and I bought so many pipes this year there are some I haven’t smoked yet...

Gawith Hoggarth Has Dropped - Jumping In or Waiting It Out?

I got some dark birds eye and best brown but didn’t buy a ton. 8 ounces split. It’ll come back around again not too far from now I think.,, spent a lot of SG and other stuff.

Burley Blend Recommendations for a Novice

Just getting into some burely myself. I always have liked Old Dark Fired, Best Brown # 2 and dark flake stuff. But not much more. I bought 6 or so tins. I LOVE Solani Aged Burley Flake. Oak Alley isn’t a burely but partially. It’s been good to me too. Old Joe Krantz hits the spot sometimes...

Reversed My Opinion of Haddos Delight.

I held off on the haunting by warped. Reviews on tobacco reviews weren’t great but on smokingpipes it was pretty good. Figured I’d try. Normally I don’t like these burely based blends but I really like it a lot. So I went and put haddos delight in my cart. I’ve learned not to make a decision...

A New Threat To My Cellar

Absolutely. I’ve doubled my smoking and cellar is shrinking now. I was calculating how many tins I’m going through a week. I’ve got to slow down. Past few months are getting pricey.

How Many Bowls Do You Smoke?

It was 3-5 but the last few months, more like 8-9. Home all day. On the patio morning to night with iPad Pro and doing some work etc. I’m going through too much tobacco now too. So trying to slow down but it’s not easy. Think I did 6 or so today. Escudo, Solani silver flake, Penzance, oak...

    Pipe Lighter Recommendations

Late to reply and past $30 but for $60 I got the kiribi kabuto short and LOVE it. I still use bics on walks because they’re lightweight but great lighter.

What Is With These Esoterica Prices?

Simple. Supply and demand. Even if it’s hype or not. More demand than supply. I’ve got a lot of esoterica and look at those tins and sometimes think $$$$. But I just smoke it as it should be.

Lakelands: Let's Build A Sauce Scale

I haven’t had ennerdale or much Lakeland but I enjoy it. Not all day but once a day or few times a week. I’ve only had very mild or not sure how you’d rate it. But best brown 2, Lakeland dark, dark birds eye, bobs... I’m interested in trying more for sure.

    Sam Gawith Finally Arrived

Yeah I grabbed some St. James Flake, 1792 flake. Still got plenty of the rest. I’d like some Lakeland dark. Next big drop, I’ll grab a few boxes of Fvf and squadron. Those two are some of my most frequent smokes.

First Smoke of the Day ?

Hard to say but latey... a VaPer with lots of Perique or a burley based. I wasn’t really a burley smoker (accept dark flake and Kentucky) but now I’m liking Solani aged Burely flake and some others like The Haunting, Oak Alley etc.

Very cool for the update. Thanks so much. I learned so much in the early weeks of getting into pipes via his channel.

    Selling Pipes - Getting Paid

Yeah I’ve been doing same thing. Debating too between forums, eBay, sites etc. I’ve got about 40-45 I want to sell to help pay for a lathe. I need more posts first. I think I’m shy some. I’ve been a lurker too much. :)

    Help Identifying This Stanwell?

I’m not sure if there’s a pipe I.D. sub forum. I didn’t see after a quick search. Sorry if there is. I’ve done a good half hour or more searching and can’t identify this pipe. I bought it a few months into the hobby not knowing a thing except some names. Anyway, it’s got this interesting...

    My 5th Pipe - A Bent Brandy

EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title (See Rule 9) Some issues as always. A few things out of my control, but very minor but will drive me nuts. Always one of those right? I also tried some new staining methods after more reading. Still learning a ton every day. First time bending acrylic. I...

    How Often?

It’s gotten out of control for me. I think it’s anxiety and stress too but I am out on my patio from morning to late night the past couple weeks. 9-10 bowls. They’re less enjoyable this often. Want to get down to 4-5. I’m work from home all day so it’s easy to smoke too much. Maybe a cigar...

    Corona Old Boy Lighters

I was debating for several months. In the end, I got a Kiribi Kabuto. I wasn’t 100% sure how much I’d use and wanted something solid and it fit the bill. I’m happy with it so not going to be looking for another for a bit.
