Paypal but don't mention 'tobacco'. A member recently said here that they were clamping down on 'tobacco-related' transactions and refusing them.
I have had the same experience. A few weeks ago I ordered some tobacco and pipe cleaners from tecon-gmbh. They told me that tobacco can no longer be paid with Paypal. So I had to make an extra bank transfer.

Another way to discriminate smokers?

Then ,especially in Germany, not all sellers are willing to pay monthly and transaction fees to Credit card companies which also may be the reason for not accepting Paypal or Card Payments

Paulie, I do not know, it is possible, but in this case only the tobacco was excluded from payment with Paypal. Many (German) retailers explicitly offer paypal or amazon pay as a payment option on their website. Probably this is a question of their calculation.

I use PP F & F for "low dollar" purchases or where the seller is well known with a good reputation. However, for watch or photography purchases, it's always G & S due to the protections it offers the buyer. The G & S fee isn't too bad at ~3.5% for some additional peace of mind.

Appreciate all the replies. It sounds like PayPal Friends & Family is the way to go. I'm familiar with PayPal, but not F&F specifically, so I'll do some research on that.

Yeah I’ve been doing same thing. Debating too between forums, eBay, sites etc. I’ve got about 40-45 I want to sell to help pay for a lathe. I need more posts first. I think I’m shy some. I’ve been a lurker too much. :)

I haven't bought pipes on Forums, so my vote doesn't count, and that's okay. I have always hoped that if I saw a pipe I couldn't live without, I could PM the seller and arrange to pay by check with the understanding nothing would ship until the check cleared. My checks are good, but I understand the problem with checks that aren't. To this old guy, PayPal is just another financial middleman to contend with, not a happy thought.
