I don't have any, but once baronsamedi sees it, he can show you his Black House tattoo as well as his others...

I've got a left arm sleeve and working on finishing my right arm. When I get time I will put up pictures and meanings. I have at least 3 more in mind but no funds.

I have one. I have always had an affinity for the Mustang automobile and horses in general. I have this tattooed on my right shoulder. I have wanted more, but I want a bigger one next and that requires $$$.

I have 6 already, likely getting more but the price of tobacco here is cutting into the tattoo budget.

I plan on getting an edelweiss tattooed on my right shoulder and a Scottish thistle on my left. I would also like to get the cross key symbol from Iron Maiden's newest album and the Rammstein R.

Right arm: Pyramid with a flaming eye and tears dripping down; cross; koi fish; beavis "tadpole" from Beavis & Butthead Do America; nor-cal star on elbow; skull; dragon arm/foot holding a flaming crystal ball; skull with bullets for a mohawk; skull on top of hand, 'hate' written across pinky, ring, middle and index(this one is barely visible as I've had two laser removal treatments on it. I regret it. Drunk at a party in Ukiah CA when I got it); a cross on my thumb.

Left arm: heart with 'mom;' TV with broken antennae and spyral on screen; Butthead with a mohawk and leather jacket; bottle with A.I.(Acoustic Idiot, a joke solo project of mine); a dagger with swirls on the blade; 'I.I.F.L on left pinky, ring, middle and index(In. It. For. Life. A committment I made to music years ago); and a cross on thumb.

    Photobucket

Left calf: zombie head stuck on a broken martini glass

    right calf Goth pin-up girl

    back, better left unmentioned

Left side of head I have a skull in the middle of a spider web, but I let my hair grow out.

All in all, I have about 25 tattoos

I have three. The first is a rasta colored peace sign. It's on my inner left wrist:

The second is a tribal interpretation of the Star Fox logo. It's on my lower back. Yes it's a "tramp stamp", but my buddy he would pay for a tattoo if I t it as a tramp stamp. It cost him $100:

    This is the tattoo

This is the logo it is based off

And my third one is a Maori style chicken on the back of my right calf. I don't have a picture of it, but I'll post one eventually.

I have two smallish ones that I got when I was younger. One is a yin-yang symbol, but they're eagle heads (native art) and the other is the Chinese symbol for Tiger. (Confirmed repeatedly...) No colour on either one, just black.

I was one of the first in my crew to get tattooed, and the first to basically stop getting inked. Not even on purpose either, I just never got any more. The only design that has tempted me over the years is my family coat of arms. May happen eventually.

Wow.. serendipity!!! I was just talking to my wife about me getting a tattoo for my 40th orbit around old Sol! I want something to reflect my love for astronomy. So I thought a classic constellation of my favorite animal, a Raven (they are really smart and playful). Corvus.

I have four in total... Japanese water dragon fighting with a large octopus on my right calf/lower leg, wolf howling at a moon with some tribal behind it on my right upper arm, and my whole left upper arm is dedicated to my love of horror movies with bats, a castle, cemetary, zombie hands coming up from the grave, skulls, and a creepy little gargoyle with a moon behind all of it and a wolf howling at it below.. Will have take some pics to post...

It isn't the most comfortable of places to get a tattoo. My buddy got one on his ribs when I got the one on my back. He said it hurt quite a bit, but not as bad as he thought it would. I'll tell you this though, anything that hits the spine hurts worse. The one on my back is on a good amount of my spine, and it hurt like hell. You can actually hear the needle in your head when it hits your spine.

I have another friend who has a tattoo on the opposite side of your Black House tattoo. He said it felt like someone was twisting his nipple.

That part hurt. Even though he didn't even touch the actual nipple, it felt like he was boring a hole through it.

I used to be a volunteer for Operation Home Front WA which serves military families of those deployed and we also help the soldiers/Marines when they return. We bought an incumbent bike for a young Marine who has severely injured, missing limbs, etc. I'll never forget the tattoo on his inner arm. It was a giant cross but had a scar that bifurcated the tattoo where it long longer lined up. It was heart breaking - and this young Marine - Casey - was seared in my heart.

Well, I have an angel kneeling in prayer with a cross and a rose on my left forearm that was done for my late wife after she passed away. My right upper bicep has Scottish flag crossed with a Union Jack with a crown and Ulsters six pointed star crown and hand in the centre that says NO SURRENDER (throw back to my wild up bringing) My Canadian Airborne Jump wings on my chest over my heart. 17th centery knight on a demon horse ripping out of my left bicep. Plans for a chinese dragon fighting a white tiger with my kids names done in the middle in Kanji as protectors. Ironically reading this post as I am watching a new show on tattoo artists fixing messed up Tattoos.

I have quite a few on both forearms, But I just got my latest one last Thurs.

My Grandfather was part of the Polish resistance movement in WWII, He was captured helping Jewish Families hide from the Nazi's. We was sent to Auschwitz for the duration of the war. When the camp was liberated he was 23 and weighed 70 Lbs and one lung lighter. He went on to raise a family, have a amazing life as a self employed tool maker till he was 60 then retired for many years till he was 82.

Not paying real attention as a kid to the numbers on his arm, I knew what they were from but I could not remember which numbers they were. After a couple years of emailing back and forth with the Museum at Auschwitz I was able to track it down, Then for the past couple weeks trying to come up with a design that was simple yet respectful.

    -damnyak AKA Double-Goofy.

wow damnyak thats so effen cool. What do the "s"'s mean. I love how you've turned something really horrible, painful and scarring into art. That's why I started this thread because many people's tatoos have some seriously deep meaning. Thanks for sharing that damnyak,

Thanks Man, The S.S. are his Initials. Putting them together might give the wrong Holocaust impression.

Agree with zonomo -- turning pain into a tribute to a great life lived. Very nice, yak!

To think to have the courage to want to survive through that, then to come out and live a full life and finally pass away 21 grand-kids strong. Ever since I was old enough to understand the concept of what he went through, I thought to myself, "well, I really cannot say anything is "hard". can I?"

    but anyhow.

I have 10. I did 7 of them myself. Here are a couple of the ones I did. I'm a lot better than this work reflects. Doing these is how I practiced and I did them upside down and sideways on my body so it was very difficult.

I'll have to have my spouse get a shot of the shieldknot on my left shoulder. I've drawn up a Thor's Hammer design that I'd love to shrink down and get done on the right - at its current size, it would be a decent back piece, but really painful (down the spine and across the lower back - right where all the nerves are...)

Oh yeah, the spine is intense. Very painful.

I have a celtic knot on my left shoulder/upper arm, an outline of Michigan on my anlkle (which I actually got in Detroit on my trip to johnnyxpipe's wedding, and my pièce de résistance - a quarter sleeve (and planned to be growing) spanish motif in the painterly style of a matador and a bull.

damnyak, I agree 100% with your comments. We really dont have many bad days compared to some people right? I learned that lesson first hand with I visited Cambodia for 15 days. My next tat will be something to do with Cambodia. But you've inspired me on this Pain to Art idea. Thank you.
