I play, build, and modify electric guitars. I also build guitar amplifiers. Oh, and golf, I like to golf when I can. Mostly though I work - is work a hobby?

I noodle with guitar and bass a bit.

I am a Civil War reenactor. That's actually what got me into pipes.

From April to October I spend at least 3 days a week fishing. No room for a boat right now so I do the shore thing. Did pretty good with silver perch and bass this year.

I have a few hobbies and activities to keep busy with. Here's a few:
camping

hiking

canoeing & kayaking

hiking

hunting

fishing

shooting

reloading

wood working

charcuterie & smoking

cycling - on and off road

photography

music

rc car racing/building
I don't do all of these all the time but drift in and out of them as my mood strikes me. Hunting, shooting, cycling, camping and canoeing are pretty constant though. :puffy:

BOOM!

@ Jkrug,
I love my smoker! I cheated and got an electric one. Didn't want to babysit it. I recommend this book.

Aside from keeping my adult autistic son in line, I like to restore bamboo fishing rods (and fish them when I get time), restore Meyer System flutes from the 1900th century and, of course, restoring old tobacco pipes. Walking is good and some weight training. Aside from that and all of the work I do, I'm just a lazy sot...

@Gambit88

I too went electric (Bradley digital) for ease of use. No regrets.

I also have that book, bought it years ago, and it is an excellent resource for sure. :puffy:

Aside from smoking a pipe I:
Write, perform and record music (primarily a singer/guitarist but also play a little piano)
Collect and shoot firearms (of all types)
Play video games and collectible card games (Magic the Gathering)
Watch a LOT of football
Play with the dogs
and I am in the process of trying to buy a piece of land to begin a small farm/homestead (fingers crossed on getting it going in the next 12 months!)

LOVE Calvin and Hobbes! That box is something I did for a teacher in the family--they keep children's books in it.

Great thread!

I work with my hands all day long (I'm a carpenter) and I like doing fun projects after hours. Designing and fabricating pipe racks, tampers and tamper holders (posted on other threads) have been how I've spent many hours.
My most recent interest is learning machining. I bought and restored a 1939 South Bend lathe which, in itself, was an eye opening process. There's something about machining metal on the lathe that's mesmerizing for me. I enjoy

the challenge of turning a piece to within a thousand's of an inch.
