There are quite a few I like, but I would say my go to is Green Dragon from The Country Squire.

unfortunately my favorite is no longer being made (CC, 40th, 5100). But for stuff still in production I would have to say 515-rc1, krumble cake red VA, union square, FVF, simply red, Brighton in no particular order. Honorable mention goes to hogshead. Need to smoke a few more bowls before I place the final verdict.

My go-to’s for the last few years are GH Scotch Flake, Orlik Golden Sliced, and McConnell Red Virginia. There are plenty of others that are fantastic and that I smoke regularly. Some of my all time favorites were made by McClelland though……

"Go to"....for me that's something not off the market and I have two. Rhythm and Blues, and Veermaster. Like some other lucky people I do have some blends like cheer that are no longer available but I prefer to enjoy them only from time to time with company.

In addition to enjoying barebones thread titles, I also enjoy a good VA blend, especially during warmer weather. I mean, who the hell wants to smoke Balkan Sasieni under the hot sun? That would drive me straight to the sanitarium, frankly (I know I'm setting myself up for some obnoxious retort to which I would have no conceivable comeback, but that's just my early World No Tobacco Day gift to whoever takes advantage of it first. No need to thank me either.).

My old standby when it comes to a straight VA is Sutliff 507-C VA slices. What's yours?

If you are talking straight VAs, I agree 507-C is good, Also Capstan Blue, Country Squire Green Dragon, Newminster Superior Navy Flake, MacB HH Virginia, Peterson Flake are also some of my favorites.

I tend to not smoke straight virginias; does LBF count? I smoke it ten-to-one anything else.

No Balkan's on a hot day? Sweet Moses, what's next grandpa? Not driving when it's a light snow flurry? Going to dinner for an early bird special to "avoid the rush"? Getting up at 4:30am for no good reason? Going to a bingo game as a way to pass the time? Becoming obsessive about the weather? Developing incontinence? Join a power walking group at the mall before it opens? Becoming confused about how to operate your new fangled cellular phone? Now wait till it's 90 degrees outside and fire up some And So To Bed and remember what it is to be alive.

weirdly I have been enjoy english blends a lot in the heat this year. Weird I know.

It's not weird. It's wonderful. Smells like a summer campfire.
