I have been smoking mainly Rustica or sometimes Dark Birds Eye in the morning. Being that I’m a nicotine whore and trying not to smoke anymore Marlboro Reds. Probably not the tastiest but it gets the job done.

usually a Virginia flake...but right now it's mostly been Redburn.
It’s been Ryback in a cob for my first smoke for the last couple months. Before that it was 5 Brothers. I like a strong blend in the AM, and a quicker burning shag cut means it’s a fast smoke out in the cold air to get the blood flowing.
If I’ve got the time, and it’s not -323 degrees out, I like Chelsea Morning or Habana Daydream to start up on a lazy morning.

Same, need something to go with the espresso(s). Gawith Hoggarth's unscented Dark Plug at the moment.
The light 'early morning' blends/Orientals are good for a change of pace in the afternoon.
While in general I don’t have a morning blend as such, and till recently did not smoke a pipe in the morning:

Just as I Like my jolt of very dark roasted coffee in the morning post-breakfast, I want a jolt from the tobacco I smoke along with the coffee. So, it's a stout VaPer-Bayou Morning.
Lately it's been my main whole leaf blend with kentucky, stoved and black stoved red and bright virginias, orientals(basma and prelip) and some perique.
Reading this thread has made me realize how different people's objectives are for their pipe smoking. I start the day with one of my mildest blends. I also prefer a light to medium roast coffee. I'm surprised by the number of folks that start their day with a full bodied nic bomb. Not implying this is wrong in the least as people should do what they enjoy the most.
I'm aligned with @hoosierpipeguy on this one, before lunch I don't find myself in the mood for really robust smokes. I usually dig into my Vapers or an Aromatic. After lunchtime though, that's when I'm ready for something with a little more heft.
Unfortunately I have no rhyme or reason and I smoke whenever I have an opportunity. However, EMP gets a fair shake along with some aro's like Boswell's Best or Blood Red Moon.
Something burley. Something aromatic. Generally bulk. Lots to choose from. KBV, Peretti, Wilke, Watch City.
This is amazing! It's always so hard to find new reasons to buy more tobacco. Look at all these suggestions! I'm just gonna have to try a few. Yall twisted my arm into buying some more.
The Amphora Burley with coffee usually ticks the right boxes.
Depends on the day, on the weekend mornings it's either a mild burley/otc or a light English with coffee and cream. During the week it is more often than not the bottom ¼ of a bowl of whatever I was smoking the night before with black coffee to wake up.
Sutliff RR(Edgeworth match) goes well with coffee. C&D Derringer goes well with hot tea. Usually they are smoked in a small chambered pipe.

I'm the breakfast cook and also bring in the paper and give the cats their first daily feeding, so I don't find time for a morning smoke. Also, I'm a moderate smoker, so I time my smoke or two so I have time to savor it/them. If I did morning smoking, I think I'd tend toward Virginias more; as is, I lean toward burley.
