The more I smoke of it, the more I like it. I am tasting more of the perique in my latest bowls, so I can see the Haddo's comparisons a bit more, but this is still quite unique in the GLP lineup.
It is a rational idea, Tim. Arugula, on the other hand, is pure WTF.They are the ones who think pineapple on pizza is a rational idea.
Should be a regular release.Didn't get any. Isn't it gonna be a regular issue, gonna be stocked all the time blend?
Do you think some age will tame the perique? After 3 bowls of it - it's not to my likings. Waaaay' too much perique which overbears everything else. I'll jar it up and hope aging helps it. IMO, this is nothing close to Haddo's. At all.
One star and 2 thumbs down. And this is coming from a GLP "fan-boy."
I'd rather have pineapple on my pizza.
Probably. I’m sure these are very fresh tins so even a few weeks can make a difference let alone a few months.Do you think some age will tame the perique?
To be fair, that's true for many C&D blends.Do you think some age will tame the perique?
I saw a review by Shane that said age will do good things for it. I bought 2 tins but thinking I’ll let it age before smoking it.
I can’t get on board with Spark Plug due to its hideous tin art. No joke. It makes me think the tobacco is going to taste like rust, or I’m a mechanic or something. The name and tin art just killed it for me. Obviously, that’s just me, as many others like it. To each their own.I think I'll go fire up some of GLP's Spark Plug...
You may be onto something there. My first profession was heavy equipment/diesel mechanic so I love the name, tin art and the greasy taste and smell...lolI can’t get on board with Spark Plug due to its hideous tin art. No joke. As I’ve heard someone say: pipe smoking is also done with the eyes.
Now that you describe it as “greasy” I may actually have to give it a try. It was either Penzance, Nightcap or Artisan’s Blend (or all three) that has an “oily” taste, and I quite like it.You may be onto something there. Gaslight has it too.,,,greasy, oily - but flavorful. Now that you describe it as “greasy” I may actually have to give it a try. It was either Penzance, Nightcap or Artisan’s Blend (or all three) that has an “oily” taste, and I quite like it.
