All great suggestions thus far!

Wife and I just finished Happy! on Netflix. It's rather dark and serious 80% of the time, but there were also many knee slapping moments that came totally unexpected.

I love all the comedies from the 80s and 90s when things were actually funny and didn't rely on shock factor. I particularly like all the John Candy movies like Spaceballs and uncle buck. Also can't go wrong with any Chris Farley movies.

No women have been mentioned. That's a whole 'nuther topic.

Must be because of our societal patriarchal power structure ?

Actually there has been a few mentioned (Sarah Silverman, Mila Kunis etc) and several of the writers on the cartoons above are female.

Humor and comedy, making someone laugh is a great way to get laid?, therefore men have been practicing it for thousands of years as a matter of survival and are as a result on average more funny than women. Plenty of dull men and funny women on the individual level though.

I saw a biography about the The Three Stooges. The president of MGM was pretty lousy (according to the biography). According to Moe: they were only allowed to do shorts. Abbott (of Abbott and Costello) would pick up The Stooges daily's from the president of MGM, and he would later see their routines in Abbott and Costello's new movies.
