Psychoactive Mold
It's been many years, but if I remember correctly... Unless it 'stains blue' you probably want to stay away

Didn't Deep Roy play ALL of them last time?
Yes he did!
But during retakes he fell into a simmering vat of 70% cocoa dark chocolate, went through the production line before anyone noticed, and wound up as one of those huge chocolate Easter bunnies.
So there was an opening for the next film, but I didn't qualify as this one's an animated film and I'm nobody's toon.

I was wondering why there was so much hair in my chocolate bunny; now I know oompha loomphas are great dipped in chocolate!

Ok... dragging this one back up because I have a question. Since several of the other threads that were very specific got closed, I think this is the best place to get that question answered.
I have a 3 lbs. of a blend that I know contains red VA. It was blended sometime in August. While pulling the 3 bags out so that I could transfer to Mylar and seal, noticed one of the bags had about a dime sized mold spot in the tobacco. I was obviously a bit miffed as I thought this issue was limited to certain tinned blends and was pre-August.
So, my question... Has anyone has any problems with bulk blends containing some quantity of red VA? I am now VERY hesitant to order anything else from them that contains even a hint of red VA at this point.

Did you call smokingpipes to discuss this? My guess is that they will have some answers and solutions.
Not yet. Just found it tonight. I have every intention of giving them a shout tomorrow.
Was just curious if anyone had issues with bulk at all.

I don't think I've seen any other references to moldy bulk in that time frame. It's reasonable to think that someone else would have commented what with the rate these boys smoke bulk company xxx blends. Shame all the same. I'm sure they'll make it right, right quick.

Yep, I have full confidence they will resolve it, just a bit disappointing. Figured my bulk stuff was safe.

J-

I wouldn't be hesitant now to buy anything from them at this point. The leaf wasn't treated correctly for a few months over the summer. So if I had anything at all from June- August I would worry. I have not seen or heard of anything produced from September on with mold issues. According to them the problem is totally fixed, so going forward I am pretty confident in all of their blends.
