What Music are You Listening to? September, 2023

This evening I have been listening live to an ensemble playing modern and contemporary American composers of latest and modern classical music, such as Ruth Crawford-Seeger, Hilda Paredes or Moondog. Interesting auditory experience. Here are two peaces they played, I found on you tube, okay, different ensembles.

One hundred years ago today, Setember 17, 1923, Hank Williams, one of the greatest singer/songwriters of the 20th. was born. Here are two of his many memorable songs:
"Hey, Good Lookin'" (sung to June Carter)

and "I'm So Lonesome I could Cry" (from 1949)

30 years ago today Nirvana released their 3rd and final studio album: In Utero. Time certainly does fly.

After enjoying my earlier Kenny Burrell double CD I bought another 4 album/double CD of him and his band.

The second disc is playing right now, a live gig at the Five Spot Café followed by another live gig at the Vanguard, both New York venues I believe.

Really foot tappingly good music
