Changed the oil in my daughter's Cavalier. A 45-60 min job took 180... Chevy, in their infinite wisdom, put the oil filter in an unreachable area behind the engine. You have to have tiny kid arms to get into the area where it is, but have big manly hands to get it off. I'm never doing that again. I'll gladly pay to have someone else do it next time.

Went over to my daughter's house to help eat wedding leftovers and watch them open wedding presents. She got married Saturday.

I have sat here all day browsing the web, watching t.v. and smoking my pipes. I got 3 bowls in for the day and that was smoking all day. I don't see how some guys smoke up to 10 bowls in a day.

Well I slept in, beat the last little bit of Uncharted 2, had a shower and shave with new safety razor, then I went to my tobacconist and bought two new pipes, a pipe rack, and some delicious english blend. I went home ate a roast chicken, then went outside to try out my new Canadian, sadly half way through a fantastic smoke I got rained out. I'm now finishing my beer and thinking about going back to video games.

Flew the plane up North with a friend for a burger. Upon a perfect landing, lowered the nosewheel and it went flat! Two and a half hours later, after towing the plane to the hangar on a dolly, we had a new tube in the tire. The tire was just fine. Then it was finally time for a burger and fries. Returned home by 5:00 in time for a Manhattan and to watch the Nationwide NASCAR race. Total cost of the burger today? About $400. But, we had adventure and fun. If God had really intended Man to fly, He would have given him...

No, not wings! He would have given him MORE MONEY!!!

Other than taking my wife to Walmart to pick up a few things, I spent most of the day catching up on my grading of chemistry laboratory reports.

Cleaned the house, then cleaned estate pipes that were disgusting. I will never ubderstand people that don't even run a pipe cleaner through a pipe after a smoke.

Well yesterday I went to a few antique shops... no luck on that elusive birth year Dunhhie, or any dunnie for that matter... did find quite a few Kaywoodies but decided not to pull the trigger on them...BUT what I did find was an old double bit "Collins" axe! for only $20, its an old felling axe from a great company thats just a step or two below the likes of a Gränsfors Bruks as far as im concerned... I will begin restoration on her this week.
I love old axes and a good axe is an essential tool (next to a good quality knife) every man should have.

8O Good God Hobie you're an industrious man!
Yesterday I attended the 42nd Mid-Ohio Insulator Show in Springfield, Ohio. I have noted my interest in antique glass insulators and pictures of some of my collection in the hobby/ collection threads here in the PM forum.

Now I have read the rules, In particular this one:
A blog post or a forum post that is one to a few sentences that are just a lead-in to an outbound link is blatant promotion, or spam. It does nothing to add value to our site, does not enhance the user experience, and is not a participation in the community on the site.
But as an active and contributing member of this forum for almost a year I would like to add a link to my personal blog about this insulator show. I believe my link does add value to the PM site by showing the diverse and unique interests of pipe smokers outside the usual pipe and tobacco relm. In my opinion the documentation of my experience at the show belongs on my blog and not taking up space as a dedicated thread on PM. So if you're interested in seeing more by all means click the link and if this warrants one of my two warnings then that's cool too.
