The Oliva Serie V Melanio is my favourite so far. Amazing cigar.I only have 3 Oliva’s in my stash, I just can’t hold onto them long enough to build up a stock ?

AGREED lol. I like the Churchill version, if only the No.4 came in a 6.5” - 7” version that would be right up my alley. I don’t mind a 50 gauge but personally prefer mid 40’sThe Oliva Serie V Melanio is my favourite so far. Amazing cigar.
@cosmicfolklore Did you light it from the fire?A long day out cycling Tybee Island. It’s not an expensive stogie, but a nice little cuban buzzbomb.

I picked up a 24 box of the Corona Gorda for $157, a no brainer. I agree this is better than the original as I recall. The color of that wrapper ? money!Crowned Heads Four Kicks Capa Especial Aguilas. Supposedly when Crowned Heads was sampling prototypes for the original Four Kicks, the CH guys preferred the version with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper and Ernesto Perez Carrillo preferred the version with an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper (no surprise given his history). Since Crowned Heads was commissioning the cigar, they won the debate, at least until they could do a line extension with the Sumatra wrapper which became the Capa Especial. Anyway, it's all fodder for marketing hype, but so far the cigar is pretty good, and superior to my memories of the original. A cup of Kenyan coffee is the drink.

Yeah, I'm in the final third now, and I like it a lot. Some of that "pencil lead" effect I get with the flavor/aroma of Ecuadorian Sumatra wrappers sometimes, a touch of sweetness, and no shortage of spice. This size is kind of cool, modeled on the old RyJ Aguilas, but if (more like when) I buy more, I'll probably get the coronas gordas, since that is pretty much my favorite size.I picked up a 24 box of the Corona Gorda for $157, a no brainer. This 898 is at the top of my list. It is one smooth smoke, very creamy with a retrohale completely absent of pepper burn or harshness. It's like smoking a scone, I'm loving it.Yeah, I'm in the final third now, and I like it a lot. How is the 898? I've only had one single, A few years back, but I loved it. If I ever start ordering Habanos again, it will be right at the top of my list! They were kind of hard to find for a while... Do you know if that is still the case?
That right there is a fantastic cigar that has gotten stupid hard to find.Partagas 898 Varnished.
