Not every day is a Padron day. I didn’t have lots of time this evening, so I fired up a Don Lino Dark Horse, which I received from Holt’s COTM early in the year. After 6 months in the tupperdor, the draw was still as tight as a floozy’s skirt, fairly normal for a Holt’s selection. Flavor was unremarkable, but the aroma was pleasant, and that’s primarily what I wanted for a half hour. I won’t buy them again, but I don’t regret this one.

I really enjoyed their Africa line years ago. Haven't had a Don Lino in forever. Good memories! :)

Luck of the draw tonight. I’ve been saving this for unknown reasons.

The first cigar that I really enjoyed was the Fuente 8-5-8. That was in 1991, when they couldn’t give them away. They were cheap, like a buck a piece. I went on to try all that Fuente had to offer, and loved them all. My other fave back then was Lew Rothman’s El Rey del Mundo line and the JR Special Selections.
