What Cigar are You Smoking? 2024

Sometimes, with more budget friendly options, a year in the humi can work wonders. I used to smoke a lot of these entry- level Ashtons that come in little cardboard packs. "Half Corona" and "Senioritas." Pretty rough fresh, but put 'em back for a year and they became pretty good

I can even recall a "nirvana" smoke with one, years ago on some beautiful October day in my backyard

The only thing I plan to keep for years in my tupperdors are higher end cigars. As for budget, low, mid range, at least for now, I just want to buy them, toss them in the tupperdors to rest a few months and smoke them.

I just want to get, hopefully budget, low, mid, that already have age on them.

As we know, a lot of New World brands are aged, but I don’t know how far that extends to their budget, lower end sticks.

Good old Micallef "a"


Smokingpipes had these, and everything from Micallef, on sale earlier this year and seemed to be closing them out. Yesterday I noticed they had many lines back in stock, again on sale. Today, all the "a"s are gone...

I really like these at $3.80 or whatever.

My buddy and a smoked Carrillo Pledge Prequels in the garage tonight. A chilly 20°F outside, but I have a couple heaters so it's good

I took a pic but it was towards the end and I decided nobody needs to see cigar butts and a dirty ashtray so here's a river shot from last month

Back on the budget sticks once again…

This time trying for the first time a Fuente Curly Head Deluxe Natural.

I will say, starting out, the My Father Tabacos Baez Robusto, in looks, construction and tastes is far superior, it had more complexity and depth.

Maybe as this progresses it will improve a little. We all get this is a budget stick, but I would expect in all aspects, being a Fuente, it would of been overall more superior to the likes of a similar priced stick.

I have smoked quite a few Fuentes in my day, this now being the lowest price, but I was expecting a little more coming from Fuente.

This is one ragged looking stogie… LOL

I only smoked half of this yesterday, and after the first quarter it began to get a bit better.

I’m half way in it today, and half way, it’s not bad for an inexpensive stick.

I won’t buy it again, especially for a few pennies more, you can buy other sticks. But it was nice to try, I’d say worth going around once, to say you’ve been here done that for your Budget Bucket List. LOL
