Checking in on a couple MAR 18 boxes of El Rey del Mundo Demi Tasse I had stashed away. Smoked one cigar upon receipt in late 2018 and it was predictably awful and far too young. 4 years in, it's getting its cake and honey and coffee flavor profile together, but is still largely overshadowed by earthy notes. I think I'll wait another 4 years to check in again - these have classically aged very well. I would love to get my paws on a couple of the discontinued Petit Coronas and Grandes de España.

EDIT: this guy isn't as youthful as I first thought. The flavor is developing in the transition to the second half and now it's all citrus and cream on top, with the coffee becoming more espresso. The honey and cake have moved to the aftertaste. These will be incredible with some more time on them. They are the size of french fries, but are to be savored slowly, and not smoked back to back or on an already-sullied palate.

Pants, ERDM are one of my favorites! Right up there with Bolivar in my book. Unfortunately I smoked through them all last year.

Tough luck, there - now they're in such low supply, one has to either be lucky, or else pay a substantial premium to obtain even regular production sticks. Shame. The price on these Demi Tasse, I see, has more than doubled. Double shame.

I'm down to, I think, 2 single Bolivar sticks left - a Tubos no 1 and a Coronas Gigantes. Both are discontinued.

I'm going to have to track one of those down. I don't care for the vitolas, but I've heard the blend is a smash. I went through cabs and cabs of those when they first came out.

Found this guy hiding out in a humidor. To the flame!

I had a La Riqueza between petit and half corona, awesome blend! Very chewy, steak like smoke and connotation, very good.

RA regionales, very nice. Saw RA released a regionales for pays bachos, bit rich for me, 40 cab (who on earth did that....), around 1200 euros. I still have the La flor de Cano 2019 regionales, not highly regarded, but a nice cuban stick for its price point.

The pricing on regionals was always hard to swallow, especially when they're simply re-releasing old favorites like the ERDM Tainos and Grandes de España. I fear due to pricing that I've bought my last RE.

I’ve been toying with getting some maduro overrun’s from cigarpage. Where did you snag yours from, and how would you say the flavor and construction are compared to banded sticks?
I’ve been getting mine from CP for quite a while, I’ve probably gone through 8-9 bundles over the past few years. I’m pretty certain these are coming out of the Oliva factory. Haven’t had any construction issues that have been worth remembering.I don’t consider em 2nds, just unknown’s each size is a different blend so theres no telling what you’re gonna get.
