Finally watched Father the Flame last night.

Have to say, I was surprised at how tender and emotional some parts were, especially concerning family (or lack thereof).

Naturally, I had to hit the patio and smoke a bowl afterwards, even though it was 1am.

Only thing I didn't like were the weird sci-fi / 2001 A Space Odyssey transitions towards the end.

4/5

Definitely could have been done much better. Very cool premise, great cinematography (especially with a measly $4M budget) but not the best execution.
Yes. It was strange but compelling at the same time.
I was let down after the writer/director's last movie "The Witch" which was excellent. It had the same sort of weird haunted New England vibe, but it delivered a lot better.

My youngest son and I binged the first season of "The Mandelorian".
I didn't have high hopes because I'm generally not fond of Jon Favreau who wrote and produced it. But it actually is damn good. I got a bit tired of the baby Yoda but it was still pretty good.

I generally stream Justified, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Deadwood.

I watched The Highwaymen on Netflix a few weeks ago and that was brilliant. It was my second favourite movie I saw last year after Joker.

It's about the two Texas Rangers who came out of retirement to hunt down Bonnie & Clyde.
Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson play the two Rangers.
It was interesting to see a film that was from the perspective of the lawmen who had to find them.
Definitely a 5 from me.
That wasn‘t just any Texas Ranger. That was Frank Hamer.

Amazon Prime quietly released Season 5 of The Expanse (best sci-fi show in recent memory).
Only three episodes, but the first one was excellent and it hasn't missed a beat since the Season 4 finale.

The Bee Gees documentary was also very good (last night, snow night)

Sneakers. Bobby Redford, Dan Akroid and some other reconizables, 1992. Hulu. 1/5

Folks, please try to add ratings, 1-5. It may help others find good stuff or avoid crap like the above. (Very dated in every way.)
