Always like to hear about different Virginia Flake - I love it! I'm going to note it.
The name is a misnomer. It is not a flake. Not even close. There are some chunky bits, so I suppose you could get away with calling it a broken flake. But that didn't matter to me. When I bought it originally, I really liked it fresh. As a blend(?) of bright virginias, it had some really nice grassy/hay notes to it. After sitting quietly in the dark for the last 14 years, it is no longer anything like the fresh stuff. Of course it has darkened up quite a bit, but the grass and hay notes left the building long ago. What it has aged into is really nice. I'm glad I stashed some away. At least back then Medium Virginia Flake was what the larger packages were called (like the 250g boxes). I think the same stuff was tinned under the name Golden Glow.

First pipe of the day is always a big one. Chenet’s cake in an Ilsted.

Oooh when did you get this Poul Ilsted? I don’t recall ever seeing anyone smoke one of his pipes here. 🤔

I’ve been wanting to get one of his pipes, I can only assume the extreme expense now given his passing.

Oh SPC EU has an Unsmoked, ok you buy that, and I’ll buy this Apple. LOL 😆

Be well! 🤙 ❤️

P.S. William still has quite a few left, and a Unsmoked Volcano.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and snow peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm near the half way mark of this bowl of year 2012 Stonehaven in a 2002 medium bend smooth brown Rinaldo EGEA 03 Silver line spigot 10 with a black acrylic saddle stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Watching the Guardians-Yankees game.
