The name is a misnomer. It is not a flake. Not even close. There are some chunky bits, so I suppose you could get away with calling it a broken flake. But that didn't matter to me. When I bought it originally, I really liked it fresh. As a blend(?) of bright virginias, it had some really nice grassy/hay notes to it. After sitting quietly in the dark for the last 14 years, it is no longer anything like the fresh stuff. Of course it has darkened up quite a bit, but the grass and hay notes left the building long ago. What it has aged into is really nice. I'm glad I stashed some away. At least back then Medium Virginia Flake was what the larger packages were called (like the 250g boxes). I think the same stuff was tinned under the name Golden Glow.Always like to hear about different Virginia Flake - I love it! I'm going to note it.
First pipe of the day is always a big one. Chenet’s cake in an Ilsted.

Did you hear he retired and selling off his personal collection? I wonder if that means he quit smoking. No one blasts like JT, that is for sure!
