Warped "Cloudhopper" in this Bulldog by Manduela.View attachment 47698

W.O.W! Can we get as closer look at that stem accessory? I love the stern, clean lines on a Manduela; and yours is an excellent example!

I'm gonna have to get a proper zulu one of these days! Yours are always a treat for the eyes.

And I forgot to mention yesterday that a trip to the post office resulted in two booty chest items - one from Australia and one from Massachusetts.

Jumping on the marketing hype train this morning and sampling some of this year's C&D Carolina Red Flake in this new new Bullfrog Eskimo "Gumnut" Anse [click here - for WIP pictures during commission]

(Will have to revisit this blend again once it settles but tin note is pleasant - has a feel of Dunbar to it - but the smoke is *very* bright and tatse of young virginias. Either needs considerable aging or to be mixed with something to give it a little more complexity/intrigue.)

Once in a while, I get to enjoy the fruits of a little prescience. While having that Vintage Syrian yesterday, I got to playing with a knife ...

... and cut a couple slices of Peterson‘s Perfect Plug. I even chose the pipe, which looked on as I worked: a Stanwell Special Edition “Borup” 86, which differs from the rest of the dirty dozen in my daily rack in that the strummel is supposedly a leftover of Danish production. The pipe is a couple millimeters shorter than the others, and its chamber is a hair wider. It also does not bear the usual Stanwell inset in the stem.

Anyway, I rubbed out the slices, let it dry for a while, then loaded the pipe and let this sit overnight. This is turning out to be a perfect smoke for the grey, gloomy morning out there (by some folks’ standard, anyway) with multiple cups of black coffee.
