Once in a while, I get to enjoy the fruits of a little prescience. While having that Vintage Syrian yesterday, I got to playing with a knife ...
... and cut a couple slices of Peterson‘s Perfect Plug. I even chose the pipe, which looked on as I worked: a Stanwell Special Edition “Borup” 86, which differs from the rest of the dirty dozen in my daily rack in that the strummel is supposedly a leftover of Danish production. The pipe is a couple millimeters shorter than the others, and its chamber is a hair wider. It also does not bear the usual Stanwell inset in the stem.
Anyway, I rubbed out the slices, let it dry for a while, then loaded the pipe and let this sit overnight. This is turning out to be a perfect smoke for the grey, gloomy morning out there (by some folks’ standard, anyway) with multiple cups of black coffee.
