my great grandad is buried in a war grave very similar to the one on the right on Balgay Hill, died during the second world war... in a training accident before ever getting to EuropeSmoke Of The Day: Peterson's Irish Flake and Irish Cask, mixed 50/50 in a Peterson military mount Rhodesian 999.November 2nd, All Souls' Day... an appropriate time to spend the day working in a graveyard - in this case, St Leonard's, Ludlow. Primary objective, to clear/weed the five War Graves and the access paths to them, in readiness for the annual Service of Remembrance on Monday 11th at 11 AM. All done. Some secondary objectives achieved, too. Good bunch of volunteers there today. All I had to do was smoke my pipe and direct operations (though I actually did a bit more than that). Many souls around - in the air, in the trees, among the leaves, and underground. Spent the last hour there as others might say, 'on my own' - but it's a very companionable place.

my great, great grandad, on the other hand, is buried in Abbeville cemetery in France, died in the first world war and lived through perhaps some of the worst battles imaginable. Thanks. The band is what initially caught my attention when I bought it.That's a nice looking bulldog. I dig the band and the nicely tapered bent stem. One of my favorite looks.
