Wrecked after (yet another) scotch broom pulling/cutting/dragging to burn pile session.

I feel your pain. Do this every year on the PNW property. Keeping em at bay before they get a good grip is the ticket. EZ to see when they put up the yellow flags. ;)

I love espresso. I don't get it often but when I do it's always a good experience, I could see it pairing well with tobacco wonderful. I enjoy a good strong black coffee but a good strong espresso is hard to beat. It's making me crave one, looking at it

Love good coffee. Home roast is king, but a quality local roaster is second best. I noted that espresso wasn't as big a deal down south, but on my many adventures i did run into a top notch coffee spot in Keystone Heights (if you're ever in the area). Firepower Coffee Roasters on 100, going through town. They run a proper shop with free tastings, lots of beans/roasts to choose from. A surprising, but happy find, and a go-to when i'm in the area. 👍

It's burley time for me. Good ole flake #3 in a Ser Jacopo.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and snow peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm near the half way mark of this bowl of year 2013 Capstan Blue Flake in a straight 1924 Dunhill’s “Shell Briar” patent pot 7 with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This is one of my favorite pipes and a truly great smoker. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. The Red Sox are rallying against the Braves in the seventh. 6-4 Braves for now.

I've passed the quarter mark of this bowl of year 2013 Capstan Gold Flake in a straight black 1932 Dunhill R double patent shell pot with a vernon tenon and a tapered black vulcanite stem. This is my other Dunhill pot. It's a great smoker, too. The ferals have been outside for hours, so it's been a quiet evening. Now watching the Dodgers-Angels. Kershaw's return has not been good.

Vegas Baby!!!
I was recently asked what Pete really started my collection. First real Pete I stumbled on. System 0, Made in England, bigger than usual. I didn’t know what any of it meant. Just knew I loved it. It’s the pipe that launched my passion.

Since I didn’t know what any of it meant, it seems appropriate I’m smoking Unknown Flake in it.

Today started off like any other Saturday...then the wind kicked up, the temperature dropped precipitously, the clouds rolled in, and boy was it crazy! The sky just felt all electric, everything was super clear and crisp...hard to explain, but it was truly a magical day from about 1pm onward. Enjoyed a bowl of Ashton Winding Road in a Savinelli Mattone 614 faux-Hungarian, in the shelter provided by my workroom. One bowl left of this jar, which is the very last thing remaining of my original TAD purchase in the summer of 2020. 9/10

Bird report: House finch, California towhee, California quail, California scrub-jay, Steller's jay, American crow, Red-tailed hawk, Mountain chickadee, Northern flicker, Dark-eyed junco, Hairy woodpecker, and Western bluebird...

...and this little guy:

Foxes are pretty rare here, and this little fellow was quite elusive, but managed to get a quick shot of it before it scampered off into the brush. Hope it sticks around for a bit, and puts a nice dent in the rodent population.

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and have a third of a bowl left of year 2012 Rolando’s Own in a smooth straight 1960s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. Finished editing and rewriting what I had to, traffic copped feral eating, and cleaned a few pipes. That's enough work for me today. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
