Picked up a couple of ounces of Ennerdale Mixture, which is just the flake slightly rubbed/tossed. Anyone that is worried that it’s not as heavily topped as it used to be, well, I dunno if that was a fluke but this stuff is just as heavily topped as any Ennerdale Flake I’ve ever had it the past, if not more so. This stuff is HEAVILY perfumed.

Another go with Blackadder in the Ropp Superior Algerian bulldog and a beer. Algeries still here but getting maybe 75% taste now. Improving! nose tickles again with retro, and can taste the english in this today. Mellow, easy, kinda fat 'n lazy smoke... Can't wait for full taste to be back to really judge. Thinking Blackadder may be too good a name for this mix. Perhaps Ebony with a healthy does of straight Perique mixed in would be better for the name (which is too good to not use with something!). Idle speculations keeping the mind active. puffy

Downpour!

5.22.23 afternoon downpour.jpg

Most monsoon cells are short and sweet. This one parked itself over us for a good half hour or more and dumped heavily. Had to come out and enjoy the smell of the wet sage and soaked earth! Stonehaven in a Foyard Rhodesian.

Bird report: California scrub-jay, Common raven, Steller's jay, White-breasted nuthatch, Eurasian collared dove, Mountain chickadee, California towhee, Red-tailed hawk, and Hairy woodpecker. Lots of insects brought out by this one.

Happy birthday to Morrissey! Now I have to concoct a "When I'm 64" parody for a curmudgeonly Englishman. Well, I guess I don't have to, but it's just for my own amusement, and because I'll probably get a lawsuit in the mail from him for it...
