C&D Tuggle Hall, a burley-based English, strong and flavorful, in a Peterson Killarney Rhodesian in red stain with two thin silver-colored bands about a quarter bent, my only P-Lip bit. Same shape as jimink's pipe above.

I was looking forward to flying my ship-sized Stars and Stripes off the front porch for Memorial Day, but following flag etiquette, won't fly it in the rain. I'm hoping we get a few hours of dry weather for the day itself tomorrow. It's been rainy all weekend. The big beach holiday that usually accompanies Memorial Day has completely flooded out. I picked up some groceries and the store traffic was light.

My wife and I have been lolling with the cats in a drowsy revery.

Macanudo Robust with a buddy. We used to get together regularly for cigars, but the pandemic and a toddler threw a wrench into that. We’re looking to get back to our old habits now. But yeah, this was a really great smoke. Between slowing down and retrohaling, I got a lot more flavor out of this cigar than I used to, and no wooziness!
I feel like the technique I have learned in piping has translated well into cigars—mainly just patience and slower cadence. I took a few months off, and feel like it helped me get more out of my sticks.

Good morning all. This cool and rainy morning would have been perfect for sleeping in, but the cats thought otherwise. So, I’m headed to the porch, armed with a loaded coffee and a bowl of BMP, to play a little catch up on here. Hope you all are having a great holiday weekend.

@UncleRasta , Happy Belated Birthday my friend! I wish the boys were playing meaningful football today. I’ll be watching regardless.

Cheers!

I don't understand it. Elizabethan is such a great blend, but it doesn't get the notoriety it should!
My thought: there’s a world of difference between the match Sutliff which is supposed to match the Murray’s version and the current iteration such that the current is a different blend altogether. Never had the Murray’s but enjoy the match: they are completely different.

It’s the same thing I noticed on Rouxgaroux: there is a depth and darkness of flavor in both Roux and the Sutliff match that isn’t in the current Dunhill/Peterson.

On its own, apart from any comparisons, I love the newer Elizabethan and find myself split in preference 50/50. Im glad I got a sleeve tucked away as I plan on opening a tin a year starting 3-4 years from now.

A Bowl of Lane 1-Q with some Sutliffe 507-C navy flake on top in the Vauen Olaf bent egg while sitting in a lawn chair in the back yard looking up at the tulip poplar in bloom on a sunny cool afternoon. Suddenly an immature bald eagle soared across the sky being chased by a crow. He didn't seem to worried ! Its only the second bald eagle I've seen in my area. The first was 8 or so years ago. I know they were nesting near a reservoir several miles away; this must be one of their young. I'm hoping it picks my yard to build a nest then I can set up one of those eagle watch cameras !! 🤞 Rare and lucky siting.
