Oh man, I just popped a ton of Saint Espresso. The tin note is amazing. It's like a sweetened cappuccino or a Starbucks Frappucino.
Awhile back, I saw a low slung, Squat Bulldog by Mark Tinsky at smokingpipes.com and was tempted to buy it. The low profile bowl and curved line of the stem really appealed to me. I was hesitant, though, because Susan had ordered a bunch of briar blocks from Mark Tinsky's company for my birthday, and the bag of briar had a tuft of cat hair in it that sent me into violent coughing fits (I'm highly allergic to cats). In the back of my mind, I've wondered if Tinsky's stock of briar is impregnated with essence of cat. The last thing I need is to inhale the Fel d 1 protein. My colleague at
National Lampoon, Gerry Sussman, died from an allergic reaction to cats many years ago. I remember seeing him at the office before the weekend, he took a trip and the next thing I knew, he was dead from a reaction to the cats at the friends he was visiting.
It later occurred to me that Tinsky's pipe was his version of a GBD 9282. I wasn't able to get a GBD, but I found the shape in their second line.
I'm going to light up Warped Saint Espresso in a Digby Squat Bulldog 9282. I'm hoping it tastes as good as it smells.
