About a third of a bowl left of Wilke No. 111 in a smooth medium bend 1938-1948 Pre-Republic Peterson Shamrock Killarney 9BC with a nickel band and a black vulcanite p-lip stem. Been watching an interesting well done documentary on James Stewart and Robert Mitchum.

Match Revelation/PC, in a Jerry Perry slightly bent poker/sitter carved of Mountain Laurel, a wood used in the U.S. to substitute for briar during WWII when briar was not available. Jerry, who is in Colfax, N.C., out toward the mountains, does pipe repair online but only sells his work at the N.C. State Fair in October and at the TAPS pipe show in April when it is held. He also works in briar, maple, and occasional rare woods. I have a cocobolo pocket pipe, a freehand, by him. Revelation was said to be one of Albert Einstein's favorite blends. Mountain Laurel has a somewhat marbled grain, more muted than briar, but pleasing.

Did a set of walks in the heat and humidity, and smoked a bowl of year 2016 Orlik Golden Sliced in a smooth brown medium bend Abbott 788 (Sasieni family era) author with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Have enough left for another bowl. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
