Gave up trying to sleep, and so it's not a total waste of time, I'm half way through this bowl of circa year 2000 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style.

Finishing a jar of circa 2005 Gawith Hoggarth Dark Plug in a GBD Conquest Pedigree. Didn’t have quite enough to fill the bowl so I added some Dark Flake unscented from around the same year. Picked up some French roast coffee yesterday from Sprouts and am enjoying it with the smoke. Hope everyone enjoys what is left of the weekend!

I smoked my first bowl of Sutliff J4 Burley earlier this a.m. and found it to be reminiscent of Chatham, I think it is that is one of Russ' P&C codger substitutes. I wanted to diminish the sweet topping and add some dimension to this somewhat damp (for bagged bulk) ribbon cut.
Added in some Cockstrong and some Ramback (Izmir) and voila...it was great in my MM Diplomat...now to try it in a briar...I've packed my Butz/Choquin Regate 1413 smooth straight Dublin with saddle stem and am headed outside again. Briarwood sometimes seems to deepen some flavors, no? (as opposed to cobs..and the old burley in a cob mythology)

Almost half way through this bowl of year 2015 Sir Walter Raleigh in a smooth straight dark brown undated Mastercraft Custom Deluxe billiard with a silver band and a black tapered vulcanite stem. Just opened this pouch that I had forgotten I had, and it's the first time I've smoked this pipe. Bing Crosby used smoke Mastercraft pipes, and even did ads for them before he started smoking Merchant Service pipes, so I was always eager to see what they were like. Now, I'm finding out. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

I have a Mastercraft bulldog that smokes really well. Easily one of my better smokers. That's a nice looking billiard you have there, Jim.
