On the allotments again, digging a potato bed, watching the neighbour's horses enjoying the new spring grass, listening to dueling blackbirds and a pair of crows telling a magpie to get the f*ck out of their tree, punctuated by the aloof, shrill call of a buzzard... with some C&D House Reserve Virginia flake (courtesy of my PMSS benefactor) in the Stanwell. 8.5/10, in my book: mild and mellow, just enough nic hit to let you know you've had a decent smoke - and no bite in it at all :) Smoke260325.jpg

Smoking Sutliff States of Virginia in a Castello. This is my last tin of this and I'm gunna miss it that's for sure. It was only a limited addition with three Virginias cut into separate flakes. I just rubbed out and mixed the three and with some small amount of aging this is as nice as Virginias get imho.

States of Virginia sounds similar to what McClelland did with their Red & Black, minus the brights.
Mixing all 3 sounds similar to McClelland's Virginia Woods and Butera's Matured Ribbon.
I'm sure there are others with all 3 as well, definitely making a nice Virginia blend.

Enjoyed a tall stack of cinnamon raisin French toast with unsalted peanuts and a golden delicious apple lunch. I've a third of a bowl left of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star Peru Penachi Fair Trade Organic, neat, is my drink.

Jim. I am wondering if this is one of your favorite pipes ? I see it a lot on here and was wondering.

Half way through this bowl of Rivertown Tobacco Works Sunrise Select in a medium bend smooth paneled 2017 Celebi Turkish Meerschaum with a tapered gold and black swirl acrylic stem. Ismail made this meer for me as a token of friendship. Going to post my Rivertown reviews very soon. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

It certainly is. Three of my friends bought it for my birthday, which is the day I got the 4AB set. And as I created Rouxgaroux, it's only fitting to smoke it in that very special pipe. I love my 4ABs, but that one is the most important one to me.

If you don't know the back story on the 4ABs, here's a link: The Peterson 4AB POTY Is Coming! :: Pipe Talk - https://pipesmagazine.com/forums/threads/the-peterson-4ab-poty-is-coming.87844/
