Enjoyed a tasty Snap Dragon apple, and am smoking year 2012 Anniversary Kake in a smooth burgundy medium bend 1979 Chippendale (Charatan second) Rhodesian 49 with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Smokes as well as a first and worth the $19.95 I paid for it all those years ago.
First smoke of this rare Peterson Republic era Shell-Meer x86. All cleaned up and will definitely keep this beauty. ‘22 Cringle for its inaugural.

…but, was graced with one of those “ultimate smokes” as matches called them. Burley on point, nice VA sweetness coming in and out, just the right spice in retrohale from perique.
No phone, no music, no YT distractions…just me and my pipe. It caught me off guard, what happened? What changed? I smoked this exact set up probably 50% of the time. I had recently got back into the palm swirl pack, maybe that was it. Im ashamed to admit: a few days ago I took an aggressive blitz cleaner and bourbon cleaned my mortise/tennon. Point being, do better at cleaning than I do, you may very well be rewarded.
