Why the long break? And how was the smoke after that long? I remember having a year-long break and getting back to smoking a pipe was a wonderful experience.

In short, the doctor told me I had to pick two between alcohol, meat, and tobacco. It was a no brainer. But then I quit drinking a few months ago and figured what the hell. Slow, self-aware re-entry and see how it goes. To that end, I brought 8 pipes and 17 blends with me on this trip.

Watch this space.

I forgot the second part - it was incredible. I have a minor love affair with BMP. Both times it’s been in (and subsequently out) of stock in the last few weeks have been my fault. I love it. I haven’t even really had any coffee in the last year, or so, because of how much tea I now drink. But BMP with a fresh cup of coffee is one of life’s simplest and greatest pleasures. I made sure they reunited in my life in the perfect setting - a blazing hot campfire, a pretty cold temperature, and at a cabin during a week long vacation. To be fair, I could have been smoking on @Ahi Ka ‘s Captain Black Grape stash and it would have been sublime, but it was exactly what I’d hoped for.

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am passing the quarter mark on this bowl of Wilke No. 72 in a pre-1974 dark brown straight Larus & Brother Co. Signature billiard with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite stem with the initials LCR on the top of the stem. This blend was smoked by Walter Cronkite. Listening to Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio Hour.

My God man! Let’s get out there and start showing us some of that great Finnish Country side and Fjords with the pipes! LOL 😆

Just kidding a little, BUT, oh man, if there’s some nice Finnish scenery around you, I’d love to see it all the time! ❤️

THANKS 🙏

About a third of a bowl left of Wilke No. 515 Double Shot in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. This is No. 515 with twice the rum of the Basil Rathbone blend. Finished work, fed Sleepy Suzy and Molly Danger, then went outside to feed Daisy the Feral Princess and Tomato the Brave. May have one more smoke if I don't finish a few things I want to do.
