Good morning. Sutliffs Tobacconist Reserve in the Falcon, seems like I'm only smoking this pipe these days. It just performs so much better then anything else I own. This blend is a sleeper for sure, really nice straight VA.View attachment 131773
Is that a hand grater/zester to aid in making ribbons?

Just curious and always on the lookout for creative ideas.

Now smoking MacBaren HH Old Dark Fired in the worlds smallest Castello.

This pipe is a complete mystery to me. First off it’s diminutive size is unusual. Second, the name (Castello) is written in script. I’ve never seen this before. And the only other markings on the stummel are as follows: (LO) followed by (1947) followed by (A6). The (LO) marking can be traced to Lorenzi, Italy but as for the other markings, I am clueless. The acrylic stem has the following markings: (HAND MADE) over (CASTELLO) over the number (3). The number (3) indicates an unusual shape. It’s a great smoker and it will never leave my collection, but I wish I knew more about its place in Castello history.

A half bowl of Sam Gawith St. James Flake which is all that's left of a sample I bought.
I really like this VaPer. A couple of 50gm pouches arrived during the week. Then I discovered 2 tins I'd squirrelled away a couple of years ago. I'm sure this is a familiar occurrence for a lot of you.

In a Stanwell ?Dublin ?Belge which I had re-stemmed by The Danish Pipe Shop

I really like that one. May be the best one you've done so far. Pretty soon you'll have to open up a shop.
@reloader , thanks buddy. I think it’s the best one so far myself. No chance of me opening a shop. It’s all just for fun and to slow me down on buying a bunch of other pipes. And it gives me something to do besides sit at a desk ?

Continuing my exploration of VaPer blends - a bowl of Peterson's Elizabethan Mixture.

We've had almost 2 weeks of near continual rain in Sydney with humidity close to or at 100% daily. No chance of drying the tobacco, short of nuking it in the oven. So I've placed a Sharrow Philtpad in the base of the bowl to compensate.

In another Stanwell - a 1992 POY sandblasted Belge with 1/8 bent tapered acrylic stem.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, m'lady's freshly made tomato soup and pot roast dinner with a slice of strawberry cheesecake for dessert. I'll be gaining some calories from this meal! I'm close to finishing this bowl of first release Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Watching an old b-movie, The Rookie Cop, starring Tim Holt. Rather average.
