A Jim Inks-ian smoke of EGR blend in a nicely grained Jack Howell lovat (heading out to deck...the Mrs. would gut me if I lit up in the kitchen).
First time smoking EGR. Smelled the latakia very clearly on popping the tin, very faint topping (at best). That surprised me. On first few puffs...bitter, almost like KDF. That may have been taste buds/mouth chemistry from dinner. As it settled in...quickly...a very pleasant 'old school', mellow tobacco core taste. I get the topping much more in the puffing than the tin note....kinda red wine? If I push the pace it starts to fill out the flavor with a deeper tobacco note...lay back on pace it's a sweeter mix of top note and light Burley. Though the top note is very different, it's a flavor I'm becoming more accustomed to in smokes like SWRA.
Digging...will buy more. I can see how this would be a nice 'session' smoke.
