I liberated my first pipe from storage to return to active rotation after nearly four year’s absence, a straight pot I bought “refurbished” 35 years ago from Maison Edwards in Ann Arbor. I’ve never learned who made it; the only stamping states “ITALY.”

I prepped some Peterson Perfect Plug for the occasion.

Today, the Pipe Whisperer begins his final break in of his Gepetto. Now with nearly a full bowl, he smokes his favorite house blend, his own recipe of nearly four decades. The Gepetto, now lined with a light carbon cake, burns neither hot or cold, but this is no Laodicea that needs to be spit out of ones mouth. No, this is just right. Goldilocks at home.

Not far from finishing this bowl of circa year 2000 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style.

That last bowl ended very nicely. I cube cut too much to fit in the old pot, so I loaded the rest in this:
