During our Saturday afternoon ZOOM meeting, one of the topics was the sad and unexpected passing of Rich Lewis. We reminisced about our interactions with Rich, his kindness, friendliness, and his craftsmanship as a pipe maker.
I smoked my Rich Lewis rusticated calabash, filled with Samovar.
It is one of his pipes that I had dropped and seriously chipped the lip of the rim. I contacted Rich. He told me to send it back to him and he repaired it so well that it was virtually new again.
Lovely man.
May his memory be eternal.

What a beautiful tribute to Rich! Thank you Dino for sharing. I can’t count how many times Rich had waved me on when I went to pay for some work on a pipe he had done. One of the best repair guys and very generous too. When I saw him last week he looked and sounded so healthy and then he’s gone. A reminder to enjoy today to the fullest. RIP Rich Lewis.

What do you get when you ball-baby about the dry spell you're in? How's about marble sized hail, high winds and a deluge so heavy the gutters overflow. Got hammered last evening, although thankfully short-lived. Trucks seem okay, but leaves and small branches everywhere, and some of the wife's flowers were smooshed. Oh yeah, and we opened the pool yesterday, hahaha!!! Mother Nature is an ironic old bird. Thou shall not whine....

Anyhow, all is well this beautiful morning so I'm smoking C & D Blockade Runner in the old Weber wheelhorse. Have been neglecting this pipe lately for some others, but it is by far the best smoking of the ones I own, and it'll go in the work truck this evening and be in service all week. Enjoy the day everyone!

Great Sunday morning all. No Premier League footie today. Nor for the next couple of months. Yesterday I mainly enjoyed Elizabethan Mixture, and there was also one fantastic bowl of Eight State Burley. Today I commence with Eight State Burley in my Savinelli Punto Oro Mister G 806. I suspect more Elizabethan will be smoked.
@Doctor Chopper, do you find rugby rules less complicated than NFL?

It’s very refreshing to see you’re both faces once in a while in front, behind or beyond of any those historical monuments that are to be found and well visited in one of the cultural centres of the Mediterranean See. There is a kind of steadiness in the occurrence of you guys that reminds me of the goodness of a daily newspaper in the morning or the hot steaming stew at dinner time. Keep the good thing rolling for a few more days, please.

Oh man! Love in a bundle! Beautiful pup! Look at the intelligence in those eyes!

She's been home less than 24 hours so very small sample size for a pup, lol, but . . . she's bold out in the yard but understandably with everything new still stays "in touch" and absolutely loves her crate (and is quiet in it) and the plush pink blanket my wife got for her - taking some serious naps, almost slept through the first night, not a whiner but you are correct - she's pretty calm when not exploring and you can just see her taking everything in and processing like a furry little sponge. We lost our 16 year old golden recently and we (and Linus) were ready for a Lucy. Sweet girl, again, only 24 hours, but there is still a lot you can see in a pup's personality even at 8 weeks. She'll be asserting herself a lot more within a few days, haha.

I just don’t know the rules in rugby. They don’t get enough attention in the US for us to learn them. I have no excuse with the Internet however

Smoking some Cornell & Diehl Autumn Evening in a Ser Jacopo Delecta Series. I can see why this tobacco is C&D's best seller. What a nice smooth smoke this is. Perfect packing also helps the experience.

Smoking Russ Oulette Acadian English in an Old German Clay (Markus Fohr) with a metal band and a vulcanite stem.

The fixed metal band and the soft stem makes it comfortable to smoke. On the flip side this cannot be cleaned with

Right now smoking some Taste of Summer (Sutliff Private Stock) in a no name mystery pipe. It's June 4th so I might be pushing Summer a little, but the weather is fine and the tobacco is smooooth. Bought for me by my cousin who went into a smoke shop and blindly bought me 4 different containers of tobacco - all of them aromatics. Each of them is VERY nice. It's like she had me by her side as she made her selections.
