I love how those growth rings come through on that. Beauty!GL Pease Chelsea Morning in a Savinelli Spring 316 KS. View attachment 226034
Beautiful pipe! I much prefer older Petersons. I might think differently about a very high grade new one. I may find out.Dorchester in a Pre-repub Pete. I haven’t been able to find anything out about this pipe other then the markings that make it 1947-1949 from Pipedia. It smokes great though! One of the first pipes I got when I started was a brand new Peterson XMas pipe and I hated it, I’ve been looking to try another one for a while and I think I chose well.

Cool leather coat on that one!
Your goal and method is pretty much my own. On average I'll smoke 10 pipes a day, and I like to rest them for one or two days before using them again, so 30-35 is a good goal. (My wall mounted rack takes 30, but given my preferences, some are too big for the rack). That said, I probably have about 50 or so! Need to sell some on to fund the next round.Working on getting 3 new to me pipes, trading in some britwoods I love but don’t smoke enough. These 3 new ones (estates) are what I call midrange artisan. They are all in the 300-500 dollar range and suit me really well esthetically, more so then old Brit woods but I still love those, not an easy decision, but my goal is to only have a rotation with pipes I want to smoke consistently. I can’t see needing more then 35 pipes, I’ll be trading and buying new pieces off and on trying to refine my set till I want to smoke all of them daily.
I’m definitely keeping my Ferndowns, Ashton’s, Castello’s, and Dunhill’s.

Denis Pevcov, love the dark bamboo, I wonder if that is a stain or a special type of bamboo?

Frank Axmacher, I just love the whole presentation of this pipe including the rustic rim.

I’ll be smoking a bowl of something in an Ashton before bed
You have an epic beard brother1-Q in a Ranz. Picture of me and my daughter in Venice. Using the aromatic tobacco to try and be a good ambassador for pipe smoking.
With the time difference, did not get too responses from last month, but will tag the following:
@Scottmi - No other pipe smokers spotted, I do stand out with my obvious taste and distinction!
@starrynight - plenty of cigarette smokers. I am grateful about that as they have ash trays and smoking with all outdoor seating. Much better than in the US.
@warren99 - canal is as green, smelly, and polluted as ever. Do not worry, the classic Venezia still exists, the environmentalists have not cleaned it up and ruined any ambience
