That’s an interesting piece. Did it start out as a hobby block or did you start from scratch? Either way nice work. Do you have more pics from different angles?
Started from scratch.There was alot of bad wood as I went along,and I thought I might lose the shank altogether. The pipe was made in the 1997-98 time frame from Sardinian briar that was given to me during my Navy service in Italy by a local pipeman.Made a couple of others from some of the other gifted blocks.

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am half way through this bowl of D&R Raccoon’s Friend in a pre-1980s straight dark brown Comoy's Sandblast 186 billiard with a black vulcanite tapered stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Working and listening to the Cubs-Padres game.
